History serves as a significant element in the evolution of the human. Nowadays, because of the innovation in the education system which claims that students can make choice of the course in university. Whether students should take the history course no matter what filed they study in is an issue which has caused a heated debate, with proponents state that history course should act as a required course whereas opponents holding that students can abandon it if they have no interest. For me, I prefer the former than the latter in my propensity.
Apparently, history amalgamates a variety of element that facilitates the progress of society, including so much information, such as country civilization, society development and economy rules. It dose exert a positive influence on the modern society evolution. As students, especially academician, not only do they have responsibly to realize their own country’s culture and the development of society but also should be aware of the other countries’ civilization in current globalizing times. Of importance is communication in the countries, which is available for economic expanding and culture mixing. The more history they know, the more awareness of different countries’ cultures they have, the more the communication they can have, which, is propitious to the career. So the history course will be of great benefit to work after graduating.
Furthermore, although the history course has no effect on major courses, the experiences in the history do well to the students growing up in society. Not only the experiences from ancestors can teach students how to come over the troubles but also can encourage them when they are frustrated. So many heroes in the history act as an example to the students, as a result, students can build up the goal and try their best to complete as them.
In a word, it is necessary for students to learn history regardless of their majors. History will set various good examples for them, encouraging them to confront the problems bravely and solve them. Also, students will shape their values, making their commitments to the societies through the learning of history.
