Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In university, students should take the history courses no matter what field they study in.


In ocean of countries' educational system, history classes always are mandatory curriculum. Obviouly, most of people has recognized the value of history classes. In point of my view, I strongly agree with the point that students should take history courses no matter what field they study in.

To begin with, people can largely avoid the mistakes which our ancestors had taken by studying some history classes. For example, modern military commanders can absorb precious experience from past battle records. Chinese famous book--the art of war was regarded as the masterpiece of summary of ancient Chinese military experience. From that book, today's military commanders even business leaders gain valuable information that allow them to operate more effectively and efficiently. In this sense, history study has a value beyond different fields. Students in every field can learn some strategies which can help them to achieve their goal more easily and manage themselves more effectively and efficiently. Therefore, students will beneficial from history studying no matter what field they study in.


In addition, we can feel strong ambition and plenty of virtues from the history events and figures, which the history courses can provide to our younger generation. When we read about Newton's interesting apple story, we feel not only the funny but also the strong desire to explore the unknown physical world; when Armstrong started his small step on Moon, we also want to become an astronaut and someday we can fly in the widest cosmos. I absolutely believe that everyone's first dream or future career plan derive from history classes. Accordingly, history study just like compass, it directs human being to walking on a right way.  Also, it sketchs a gorgeous blueprint for our future.

To sum up, history courses provide our first spark about our future career, and it always encourage us to explore unknown world for filling our ambition. Therefore, history courses should be taken by students in every field.
