12.16日作业：电视应该是 educate还是entertain?

Nowadays, from NBA matches to FOX's famous Prison Break, television programs take more and more time than before. When it comes to the topic that the value of television, in the point of my view, television serves as a function that entertain popularity meanwhile we can not ignore its value of education.

Since television technique was invented, our spare time seems not to be boring as before. I frequently recall the memorable time that every night the whole family gathered together and listened to the broadcast when I was very young. At that time, people's recreational activities were very rare, just reading newspaper or listening to the radio. However, the invention of television throughtly enlarges our recreational activities. There are oceans of TV programs, everyone can find his/her favorite programs. I am the sport funs, every weekend I always stay on the sofa and enjoy the NBA's excellent shows. That's a really happy time! Also, I am a PB(Prison Break) funs, so I would not miss every performance of Michael(The key role in PB). I really appreciate Michael's wisdom and his excellent professional knowledge in his field. Therefore, television provides us more entertainment options than books or broadcast and enlarges our horizon in some extent.

In addition, television is a rather good tool with its advantages that direct visual expression. In 2003, a terrible disease--SARS quickly spread out over the whole city of Beijing. For the consideration of preventing further situation, the Government ordered that all of students of high school and primary school take classes on television at home instead of taking classes in campus. This strategy has relatively perfect effort--although students stopped daily schedule in school they still caught up with the original educational plan. That's a good example in case! Recently the scientists discovered that infants easily accept visual information such as television than some abstract approaches such as books. Accordingly, I believe that television's value of education will be certainly unearthed in the future.

To sum up, television surly provides people myriad of recreational programs, and that largely diversify our life. However, due to its direct visual expression, I think someday television would play a more essential role in our educational system.
