With the development of the technology, the air is full of the new information that is out of the books. Here is a hot debate on whether it is more important for students to understand ideas and concepts than to learn facts, with the proponents claiming that understanding ideas and concepts is more important than learning facts. While others, including me, are on the opposite hand.

Firstly, because of difference between the concepts and facts, the graduates from university cannot be familiar with the society quickly, especially in current times that is filled with various information. We can't deny that the ideas and concept from books, sometimes, is obstinate when compared with the facts. For instance，when we learn the knowledge of apparatus which is applied in exploring the structure of substance inside. The books can only shows the probable steps, while some concrete conditions only appear in lab during experiment. The condition of the experiment alters with the change of temperature all the time, and this factor is important in the entire experiment. Only can we make good use of apparatus after learning facts.

Secondly, as students, we need the ability to innovate new things. It is true that the ideas and concepts can be the foundation, but only having concepts and ideas is not enough because the facts plays an essential important in the innovation. For instance, Adison invent the bulb base on the ideas and concepts. However, none but the facts make him successful after numerous experiments. Hardly can he innovate the bulb only with the ideas and concepts. Thus it can be seen, when understanding the ideas and conceptions, the facts cannot be ignored. Combination the ideas and facts place much emphasis on the success.
    In conclusion, learning facts is more important than understanding the ideas and concepts. The facts are live while the concepts are dead. More new theory can be made depending on the experiments and facts.
