It is better to make friends with intelligent people than with people who have a good sense of humor.

Friends play an important role in our daily life, without friend we not only feel lonely everyday, but also we will feel helpless sometimes. Obvilsely, intelligence and a sense of humor are two important characters of a good friend, some people, however, may claim that it is better to make friends with intelligent people than with people who have a good sense of humor. In my opinion, I quiet agree with it.

First of all, an intelligent friend always helps us more when we are in trouble. Compared with the humorous person, an intelligent friend thinks more about life, in a rational way. Suggestions and help from them will of much more importance to surmount the hardship. For example, if I was in trouble, those friends who are intelligent are much more likely to put forth some constructive suggestions, while a friend with a sense of humor may make a joke on me at the improper time. Although their jokes may mean relaxing temporarily, it is the suggestions that make sense at this moment, as the joke will do nothing with the trouble.

Further more, intelligent friends often edify us and make us intelligent and intelligence is important in our career. The fact that we will be influenced by our friend and have the inclination to gain some characters from them is true. That means staying long with a person who is intelligent, we will become intelligent. It is simply the same as with a humorous person. The point is that intelligent people have a relatively high probability to success in their career. They do better in managing the time, setting a proper goal, implementing it and handing with some emergence problems. An ordinary worker for instance, it is hardly to imagine that he can finish the assigned work with just humor, but it will definitely be different if intelligence.

Nevertheless, a humor friend is also beneficial to us. Staying with them our daily life will be full of joy and that may lead to a high efficiency in our work. This would help in dealing with the difficulty to some content. So it will be a pleasure to make friends with both intelligent people and humorous ones. If I have to choose, however, I will choose to make friends with intelligent people for the reasons above.
