Some people asserts, including the speaker, that video documentation would substitute written ones, which is a traditional way of documentation keeping for thousand years. Yet, in my opinion, this kind of things would never happen.

First, it is admitted that the records provide by video camera is more precise and direct comparing to written documentation, for people tend to believe the real image, which gives them straight information and not influences by subjective and other factors. For one thing, when organizing a report, different people have their own subjective understandings about the certain things, which lead them to their special ways to describe the same thing with different perspectives. In their depicts, maybe all of the fact is real, but with prejudice and bias, which cannot make the reader believable. For another, as for the readers, the image is so direct that it avoid a lot of misunderstanding the characters bringing about. For characters just offers an abstractive world, to better comprehend it, one need to add some imaginary fiction and pictures about of all concern, while, which are to some extent decided by the readers themselves.

In addition, the written records cannot offer us a living, vivid report which video camera can give. Thanks to the ever-increasing technology of media, we can receive the latest news at home, while sitting in the sofa and drinking some coffee; we can appreciate exciting living World Cup of football games in other country at the same time; we can hear the breathing sound of crocodile in tropical regions beyond our imagination; we can pay attention to the disasters taking place all around the world and help those who need help most at the first time, all of which could not given by the written records. Thus, video camera and only video camera provide us an unthinkable and wonderful world, for its speedy and dramatic image.

Nevertheless, it is totally impossible that video documentation would surpass the written records and become the most important form to preserve the information, since it has some disadvantage that cannot avoid, as discussed below.
