I agree with the speaker that invest research is a good thing, because most of the researches in the world nowadays benefit our society very much, no matter the research belonged what field, nature science, economic, politic, or education. However, we should be a wise man when we really decide which kind of research we will invest, especially the research with controversial results.

Money spent on research is a good way to consume public resource. The research always a is a good tool of encouraging the development of society. Most of the research solved the problems that we met in our life, and explain the puzzles we have before. Researches help us to familiar with the world around us and at the same time, help us to learn how to receive benefits from the world. For example, the research of economic teach us how to use the lest time to gain most interest; the research of politic guide the leader to find the most efficient way to lead the people to contribute our society; the research of education let teacher and parents know how to raise our children to become a useful person to our society. Thus, to invest research is valuable, it helps us to turn the money to spiritual possession, it can prevent the waste of money to some other kinds of useless investment, for example in investment of movie industry, it is entirely possible that few people love the movie and do not want to by movie tickets, then your money will never come back because you got nothing from audience.

However, before choose which kind of research we want to investment, we should consider carefully especially when the results of that research are controversial.
if the controversy is about humane moral and immoral or about just and unjust. Investment without considering carefully perhaps speed a human tragedy.

Nowadays, the speed of social development is faster than any time before, so does the science. Some amazing development of science brings our human beings to the edge of moral. Facing to the tow different chooses--keeping the moral boundary and discover the secrete of human's life. And it is also the most common controversial topic when it comes to many science researches in our modern life. For example the research of human embryonic stem cell, which is one of the most controversial researches nowadays. On the one hand, Scientists want to continue this research for the reason that if the research gains a big success, numerous people will be rescued from suffering ill. However, in contrary, people always pointed out that the method of taking out the stem cell from embryo, and then throwing the embryo away is a kind of killing. Because people thought that a embryo already can be consider as a human so that the embryo also has the equal right of living as us. Accordingly, which kind of person do you want to be, a saver of patients, or a killer. Thus, when there is a research that like this needing us to invest, we should consider carefully, because none of us want to be guilty either to the other people or to ourselves.

In summary, though the research is one of the best ways that improve our society, we have to consider some negative aspects of some researches whose results are controversial, to identify the real risk about them, and after carefully consideration, then give a rational reason whether we should invest the research. That is the best way to be responsible for our human beings.
