In this magazine, the editor concludes that the sales of Whirlwind video games are likely to increase dramatically in the next few months. To support this conclusion the editor cites a study about what kind of video-game players like most, and the advertising campaign directed at people 10 to 25 years old hold by Whirlwind company. This article is landed on a series of unsubstantiated assumptions, and is therefore unpersuasive as it stands.

First of all, the representative of the recent survey of video game players cited by the editor of this article is open into doubt. The editor fails to provide convincing evidence about this survey, the total amount of the respondents and the randomness of these people. For instance, it is completely possible that the respondents are small part of game players who have the mania of pursue the features and most up-to-date computers, but does not care any content about the video-game. Without further information about the survey, the editor can not conclude any assertion based on this survey.

Secondly, the editor confuses the correlation between the advertising campaign for people 10 to 25 years old introduced by Whirlwind and the increase of sales of the video game, then asserts that the latter is attribute for the former. The editor does not consider possible factors might bring about different result for Whirlwind sales of video game. For instance, Most of the people from 10 to 25 years old are still in school, and do not earn living. For that matter,  they might have enough money to by the video game. Or, even they have enough to pay for the video game, it is not possible for every one who have the most up-to-date computer. Without ruling out these factors, the editor can not convince us that the advertising campaign can cause the increase in sales of Whirlwind video games.

Last but not least, even assuming that the advertising campaign will help the Whirlwind company in selling video games, the editor overlooks other factors that will do negative effect on sales of the video games. For instance, the violence of copyright, the competitors' products in same kind of video game, and so forth. Either of these will provide a alternative explanation for the result of Whirlwind video game sale.

All in all, to persuade us the editor should provider further information about the survey, and supply the evidence about the Whirlwind company's competitors plan and situation about the violence of copyright. To make the increase of sales in video games, the Whirlwind company should widen its business, not only for the young, but for the senior.
