I strongly agree that dramatically development in one certain study field requires experience from outsiders. Nowadays, the interconnections between study fields become more and more popular. Yet, in my view, if someone wants to success in one field, he or she must master the knowledge of this field firstly.

As interconnected fields experience mutual growth and prosperity, modern studies require further collaboration for continued progress and success. Without supporting advances in calculus, the field of economics would never have seen the booming growth of its last 20 years. Mathematics helped convert economics from qualitative, speculative field to quantitative, definitive one. The archeologists can not analyze the DNA of ancient without the help of biologist, by studying of the people’s remains, they can determine the differences between the ancient and modern people.

Secondly, the inclusion of varied field to the study of any problem provides greater insight and comprehension. It also prevents the unmitigated influence of one predominant idea that may in fact be untrue either in the current or previous context. As we know, every subject does not exist independently. It provides a basic approach to thinking about every problem. Computer is a useful tool for us in solving many problems. If you major in biology, you will find that knowledge of computer can help you to calculus the reaction of proteins.

However, individually, if one wants to make great contribution to a certain field, the first and most important thing is to master all its foundational knowledge. Actually, if you did not master the knowledge of your own major, you can not have the ability to bring the knowledge and experience of other fields, or even worse, you may not have the ideas which knowledge and experience are useful.

In sum, skills from other fields may attribute the development of one certain study, but, for individuals, mastering all its foundational knowledge is also important.
