It is helpful for university faculty who commits to engineering, business, finance and law to work outside for many reasons. Firstly, the students in these field needs not only professional knowledge but also how to put the knowledge into practice and use it to boost the development of society. The teachers working outside can get much precious practical experience and most useful skills, infuse them to their students. The students majoring in business or finance, for example, can know the newest and most useful method to handle with a financial crisis in social environment today, by the teaching of faculty who works out of school. Secondly, the faculty working outside can also bring some programs from companies outside to school for the student in relevant field to participate in, which greatly improves their practical capacity. For example, with the professors' direction, the students majoring in engineering can practice their ability by researching and producing a new machine for a firm, the students majoring in law can know how to plead better in court by analyzing a real case with the teacher.

It is known that instead of appreciating the real values of art, the companies do only know what kind of art works is most popular and will bring the most profits. The teachers work for such company may destroy their own values of art and aesthetic. And if they impart their unfair views to students, the students will be greatly misleading that they cannot well know what is really beautiful and valuable.

To sum up, if the faculty in universities and colleges should work outside is a complex issue. And concerning the field of engineering, business, law and finance the answer may be yes; while, answer will be the opposite in the field of mathematics physics and art.
