Do you agree or not that the extended family (grandparents, cousins, ancles and antes) becomes less important nowadays than it was in the past?

When it comes to the argument that whether the extended family still has a dominated station, I should say that the family which contains many relatives such as grandparents, cousins and so on, undoubtedly will continue play an important role in our lives. To illustrate this trend, there are two reasons should be noticed.

Firstly, kin family brings more convenience and it is a good form of living which most people tend to maintain. Busy young peoples, for example, always work all day long without much spare time to stay at home or enjoy their times with his/her family. In that case, their children would be ignored and be taken no more care. In an extended family, precisely, the old grandmother will give the children care they need and make sure that they could have supper at time without be anxious when their parents would come back, bringing them pizza. In the contrary, a child in a nuclear family would not enjoy this kind of warmness from other relatives, and one investigation suggested that children who gain care not enough would show some limitation in their character in the following years.

Another important reason is that the extended family give people warm and it is a good harbor for tired us to stop. In some big modern cities, such as Beijing for example, people almost curry to school or company everyday. When I am a student in this big city, I always feel pressure about tense competition from the students whose score is higher than me, and that always make me dismal and helpless. My grandpa, however, helped me to get rid of this situation and encouraged me to be who I would to be. That gave me much courage to go on my step, and more importantly is grandma made me feel the warm from my large family. At the mean time, many immigrants who works in Beijing always go back their extended home once they have time and in the important festivals, the Spring festival for example.

In sum, an extended family has many advantages than a nuclear family does, in other words, the extended family may still important in our lives. Not only the urban residents like this form of family, but also the suburbanites incline to hold this tradition to enjoy the happyness the whole members of the family brings to.
