During twenty century, such as astrology, psychic  have stealthily taken up part of human's life. Some one concluded that they are important to satisfy human needs as mainstream science's supplement. In my opinion,however, these nonmainstream areas of inquiry are barely dispensable,they don't have exaggerated functions by infatuated man's panegyric.
Undeniably, nonmainstearm inquiry have some incomparable advantages in our society when the mainsteams are not enough developed to explain every mysterious events such as Bermuda Triangle. Science is grave and objective, always  ignoreing human's emotion .Oppositely, pacify one's spirit and give him wish are nonainsteams' strong suit which will also help people solve problem.For the Record , written by Donald Regan ,White House chief of staff during the Reagan year's ,describes in detail how First Lady Nancy Reagan used an astrologer to help palan her husband's schedule. According to Regan, the president did not travel, speak in public , or negotiate with foreign leaders unless the astrologer's reading recommended it.From Nancy's horoscope told him it is a good day ,in June 12,1987, the day Regantold Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. Furthermore, astrology is our culture's guilty pleasure: Many of us have a hard time resisting it. Even if we don't believe in it, we can't help but take a peek at what's being predicted for us whether my relationship is star-crossed ,or a match made in heaven.
If we firmly control these nonmainsteam's 'science' under community laws, steer them qccurately fill people's spiritual demands, it is beneficial to our country's stabilization. However,  fanantical trust to them only cause many kinds of social problem .Though, one of the original forms of them as early as 3000 BC in Babylonia, their actions to society are not obvious as young science which rised about one hundred year because of lacking of scientific basic. Nostradamus, wrote Centuries. prophecies events from the mid-1500s through the end of the world which is predicted to come in AD3797. Today, the fact has approved that the doomsday in 1999  was but a joke ,though it assuredly aroused panic to our society during those years. Moreover, the superstition aslo badly effect juvenile and some weak-willed people .Before they do some works,  they must inquire books of augury. If the book tell them that it is not lucky to appropriate to do that. How is absurdly? In my school, a young teacher was so infatuated with forthuebook that he suddenly  made resignation because of one  auspicial book told him that he was not adapt to this job although, his work was excellent previously.
With our society development, new- style, more effective help, psychology for people's mind has emergence and will replace them. Psychologists study processes of sense perception, thinking,learning ,cognition, emotions and motivations, personality, abnormal behavior,interactions between individual almost involved all nonmainstream area of inquiry.  Grounded int he conviction that mind and behavior must be sutdied using statistical and scientific methods, psychology has become a highly respected and socially useful discipline. More and more people who believed nonmainsteam area of inquiry .have become rational and forwardly seek those psychologist's consultation. According to a survey, there are about 280000 people  engaged with psychology and 60000000 men receive cure in America. They think a mental treat as eating lunch . So that American is considered as self-confidence and  realistic man. more scientific method will replace them consequentially.
Today ,we are restricted by scientific and technical level, those nonmainstream areas of inquiry has still usefulness. However, I believe that more scientific method will replace them consequentially.
