99、In any realm of life -- whether academic, social, business, or political -- the only way to succeed is to take a practical, rather than an idealistic, point of view. Pragmatic behavior guarantees survival, whereas idealistic views tend to be superseded by simpler, more immediate options.

思路：正面-反面-让步

• practical point of view has its own advantages
• Idealistic point of view has its own disadvantages
• Although the idealistic point of view contains disadvantages, it indeed contributes to us.

During the progress of the human-being development, the argument between idealism and pragmatism exists all the time. These days some people point out that the practical point of view can make us succeed, while the idealistic point of view can do nothing to our achievement. Furthermore, they even state that the idealistic views will be replaced by the pragmatic ones. I agree most of the standpoints in this perspective, but I guess this attitude excessively overlooks the contribution of the idealism.

To begin with, the practical views are feasible and can be easily operated. Two reasons directly lead to such a result. First, some of the work need to be finished steps by steps. For example, to produce a car, steel is needed to be manufacture first. If we do not consider our current situation correctly, we may hold such a point of view that we must produce our cars even if we do not have steel produced. Another reason is that  all roads lead to Roma,  we can just choose the most proper one for us from them. What a pity, the idealism can not tell us which one to choose, because there is only one Roma. However, if we hold the practical point of view that we want to go to Roma immediately,  taking an airplane will be our best choice.

Secondly, the idealistic point of view has its own shortcomings. Most of the idealistic views want to consider the possible situations as more as possible to make them perfect.  Actually, no body can take care of all the aspects at a time. Take a example, a girls who is attractive, sexy, beautiful and smart will be the one every girl dreams to be immediately. However, it can only be a dream. It's better for  a girl hold a practical view to have exercise to keep fit.   What's more, some of the aspects are exclusive.  Idealists want to fulfill all of them, which actually can not be supported together. We all hope that our car have a powerful engine with no energy cost, but in practical, we all know that that is not possible.  

Last but not least, although the idealistic views contains flaws, we can not ignore the contribution of the idealism. Ideals can show us the goals we are going to pursuit.  In ancient years , people dreamed of flying in the sky, which leads to the invention of airplane; people dreamed of talking to others thousands mile away, which can be implemented by telephone today; people dreamed of  going to the outer space, which brings us to the moon. Without the idealistic views, the human society will stop developing.

In a word, the pragmatic views have more advantages, we should keep a practical view to solve the problems we faced, on the other hand, the idealistic views tell us what we should strive for. After all, idealism lead us to go to Roma, pragmatism tell us how to arrive there.

However, if we hold the practical point of view that we want to go to Roma immediately(immediately 在这不合适，感觉有点像罗马就在身边的意思，应该改成to go to Roma by the best vehicle),  taking an airplane will be our best choice.

We all hope that our car have a powerful engine with no energy cost, (which is not possible, as we know, from practical view.)but in practical, we all know that that is not possible.  (阐述事例没有内在逻辑性，内在联系不大)

Last but not least, although the idealistic views contains flaws, we can not ignore the contribution of the idealism. Ideals can show us the goals we are going to pursuit.  In ancient years(From the old times) , people dreamed of flying in the sky, (少过渡，加上经历了数万年人类文明的发展和进步)which leads to the invention of airplane; people dreamed of talking to(talking with others)others from thousands mile away, which can be implemented by telephone today; people dreamed of  going to the outer space,　 which brings us to the moon. (Which用法不合适，理想不能把人类带上月球)(现在人类已经等上月球了，下一步就是火星)Without the idealistic views, the human society will stop developing.(例子不少，缺乏论证，应当指明理想起到了指导作用，指导了人类的科技发展的方向)

In a word, the pragmatic views have more advantages, we should keep a practical view to solve the problems we faced, on the other hand, the idealistic views tell us what we should strive for. After all, idealism lead us to go to Roma, pragmatism tell us how to arrive there(不对，实用主义使我们能尽快到罗马，因为没有实用主义也可以到罗马的).
