ISSUE7--The video camera provides such an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life that it has become a more important form of documentation than written records.
提纲：video和written records各有特点长处，都是重要的记录方式。
1．  Video能记录声画，信息量大，生动逼真，能提供准确可信的信息。
2．  Video方便快捷，可借助TV这一受众最大的媒体进行传播，影向深远。
3．  Written records客观综合，制作、传播成本低。且电视有人拍摄制作，同样可造假。

In contemporary society, the video camera has increasingly become a prevailing and significant form of documentation on the ground that it is able to provide an accurate and convincing record of reality conveniently and rapidly. In my view, the video camera is admittedly an indispensable form of documentation, however, it is unlikely to replace written records, another form of documentation. And both of them have their own special features as well as advantages and play a significant role in recording contemporary life.

First and foremost, video camera is capable of recording pictures as well as sound altogether, which can provide as much information as possible. In contrast, written records simply can describe real life in words and therefore is incompetent to record information which people have difficulty in portraying by language. In addition, it is due to recording pictures as well as sound altogether that video camera can represent and reflect a variety of events and activities happening in real life, which is a direct manner and close to people's true perception. As a consequence, video camera is able to provide an accurate and convincing record of contemporary life, and thus naturally becomes an significant form of documentation.

What's more, the utilization of video camera is convenient and it can shoot what happen immediately. Besides, television has become the most significant and widespread form of media and it is exerting a profound influence on nearly every respect of people's daily life. By transmission of TV programs, what video camera records can be shown and exhibited to a wealth of audiences. For instance, when the 2006 World Cup was held in Germany at that time, billions of people, including an overwhelming majority of soccer fans, watched the live competitions in front of TV sets. Hardly can you imagine such phenomenon that other forms of media are able to cause.

Admittedly, video camera is playing a more and more important role in recording real life. Written records, however, still have their own benefits and cannot be replaced by video camera. Written records can provide a more objective and generalized description regarding reality. Also, the costs of written records are far more inexpensive than the form of video camera so that they can be duplicated on a large scale and transmitted more economically. On the other hand, it is because video camera is utilized by cameramen who can decide what to shoot and the production of video records can be modified and edited easily that video records sometimes is so unreliable and inaccurate that they are likely to provide some false and even faked information, which can have a negative effect on people’s daily life.

In sum, not only video camera but also written records, serving as indispensable forms of documentation, can effectively record real life. Consequently, we should take advantage of both of them and utilize their convenience and benefit to serve overall people in contemporary society.
