With the rapidly developing of the technology, more and more machines are made to help human with complex or tiring things, which is very helpful for us. As for the debate whether machines can one day be superior to human mind, I strongly disagree that they can emulate human minds in the future. I’ll express it more clearly in the following paragraphs.
It is said that once machines are implanted the application which works as human minds they’ll think the way as human minds and thus emulate us. Such scenes are fairly common in the science fictions that machines with human minds turns to be enemy of human beings which leads to a terrible war. It is frequently discussed that one day human will be able to imitate our cerebra to produce a similar machine with the fake cerebra. Furthermore, the machine can be provided with nerve systems all over the body by metal wires which will be a robot able to think.
However, I do not agree that machines could one day emulate human. Machines are products of human minds so that even though the machines can do more and more things today, it can still not think as human beings do. Even if the robot referred to above is produced finally, imagine how complex the body is. There should be muscles apt to move, circulating system supporting the nerves, as well as varies of substances to support the process of thinking. It can be much easier to directly clone a person. However, the cloned products are quite different from machines which have no strongpoints that machines have such as strong force as well as strong rigidity. Moreover, even if human being finally work out the machine which can think as human, that suggests human beings’ wisdom are far higher than that product. Then how can the machine control human beings in turn?
The really practical problem is that people should treat machines properly instead of merely relying on the machines. First, machines are widely used because they are stronger than human bodies so that they can replace people to face some risk. Secondly, we can also use machines if the assignments require only repetition instead of thinking. In other cases, most basic problems which demand thinking process can only be accomplished by people. For example, when we are still in school as a student, we learn to solve mathematic problems. Even if we want to use the calculator, we should first analyze the problem and think up the calculating formula by ourselves where calculator can never help. Never should we be lazy to avoid pondering by ourselves or rely on machines.
To sum up, I insist that human minds are for ever superior to machines. Therefore, we should treat machines properly instead of completely relying on machines. In the basic process of solving a problem, we can merely depend on ourselves to think up the solutions.
