(综合他人提纲, 非原创.) Anyway, 是我的第一篇Issue.10.4修改,343字.多不了了...

Is it impossible for an effective political leader to tell the truth all the time? Is complete honesty not a useful virtue for a politician? I believe a politician should strive to always be truthful. There are perhaps times that any man or woman should be willing to not to tell the truth. The most useful virtue for politicians should be the one that they always put the benefit of the public and the society on the first consideration. We, however, should not say that honesty is not a useful virtue at all for them.

One reason for my fundamental disagreement is that I believe that many politicians could tell the truth, without hurting their country. For instance, instead of making up something, they could say, I am sorry I cannot answer that question or I cannot do this. It is said that people are safe to tell the truth. It will not as frightful as they have thought.

Furthermore, legitimate political leadership requires forthrightness with the citizenry as to the leader’s motives and agenda. It is well known that President Nixon’s withholding of information about his active role in the Watergate cover-up. His behavior demonstrated a concern for self-interest above the broader interests of the democratic system that granted his political authority in the first place.

Another reason why I essentially disagree with the speaker is that we should know that it really not the honest make the things bad but deceit. President Carter, was perhaps among the most honest of presidents, and had the most integrity, but he perhaps was one of worst presidents.  Bad not because he was too truthful, but he was too naive to believe that what people were telling him was also the truth. And his honest nature is apply into The Carter Center, what he insist is proved to be welcomed by most people at last.

Politicians should get away from lying, I must accept if they are men and women of integrity, then when they do lie it is for the protection of the country.

Is it impossible for an effective political leader to tell the truth all the time? Is complete honesty not a useful virtue for a politician? I believe a politician should strive to always be truthful. There are perhaps times (这有许多什莫?)that any man or woman should be willing to not to tell the truth.

(应有引号,或写成从句)It is said that people are safe to tell the truth.

(honesty?)(如果是强调,应有that)make the things bad but deceit. President Carter, was perhaps among the most honest of presidents, and had the most integrity, but he perhaps was one of worst presidents.  Bad (没谓语?)not because he was too truthful, but he was too naive to believe that what peoplepeople指的是谁呀?我刚开始以为是民众,结合你的观点好像不是?) were telling him was also the truth. And his honest nature is apply into(感觉不好,而且apply应是被动) The Carter Center, what he insist is proved to be welcomed by most people at last.
Politicians should get away from lying, I must accept if they are men and women of integrity(这句我看不懂?), then when they do lie it is for the protection of the country.
