In order to address the world's most lasting social problems, a global university, as the author claims, should be established with the efforts of all nations. I concede the necessary and emergency of the development of such university, to some extent, in the course of solving social problems; however, we also should take a case-by-case analysis.

Admittedly, a global university, which gathers elites more easily all over the world, goes a long way to solve the world's paramount social problems, such as pollution, terrorism, and some prevailing and severe infections. Air pollution, water pollution and sound pollution are the main reason for some aspiratory disease, which does harm to our health, even causes the death; seldom of us could forget the collision with World Trade Center, one of the most fearful terrorism, which led thousands of populaces lose their lives; the cure of SARS, erupting in most Asia countries in 2003, need the help and salvation of other nations. These human-concerned issues, affecting profoundly in our daily life, are significant and deserved the great cooperation across cultural and national boundaries, which could save time and efficiently find out the solution towards them.

Nevertheless, the definition of 'permanent' varies from different nations and cultures, besides the above mentioned issues, which are common regarded as persistent. Therefore, it is vague for us to make an agreement to a universal definition, which makes us confused to make efforts to address them. In some Asia country, such as China and Indian, the matter of population is so urgent that the government takes action to implement family planning for controlling overpopulation, which is probably thought to be inhumanity in most western country. Since the problems in some nations never exist in others, the definition about the most urgent social problem differs distinctly. To this extent, it is hard to achieve a universal viewpoint about what should be addressed and how to solve it, hence it is useless to develop a global university to meet the need of worldwide desires.

Moreover, in order to harmonize a prevalent agreement from different ideas and various approaches toward a certain problem, it costs us much more time and energy to make an agreement, which renders it less efficient. If an expert from oriental country insisted on the Chinese traditional medicine to treat a patient, at the moment a western doctor considered Western medicine more reasonable, they would spend more time to debate with each other to persuade other using his own approach, which may delay the best time for cure and harm the health of invalid. The confliction standpoints according to the same problems may confuse learners and hardly do good for study. From this perspective, the establishment of a worldwide university, which stems from its inherent characters, will be unscientific and impedes the efficiency of addressing urgent problems.

To sum up, some common-concerned issues, such as pollution, terrorism and so forth, are needed the help of global efforts to address them, however, due to the different value systems and country situation, the definition of permanent social problems should be take a case-by-case consideration, which can't be solved only with the found of a university.

In order to address the world's most lasting social problems, a global university, as the author claims, should be established with the efforts of all nations. I concede the necessary(necessity) and emergency of the development of such university, to some extent, in the course of solving social problems; however, we also should take a case-by-case analysis.

Admittedly, a global university, which gathers elites more easily(conveniently) all over the world, goes a long way to solve the world's paramount(这里的表达有点别扭,干脆改为Admittedly, with a great many elites come from all over the world, the university can offer a great help to the settlement of the most common) social problems, such as pollution, terrorism, and some prevailing and severe infections. These human-concerned issues, affecting profoundly in our daily life, are significant(serious可能好一点,不知道significant对不对) and deserved the great cooperation across cultural and national boundaries, which could save time and efficiently find out the solution towards them.(这里指出了各种灾难的严重性和后果,没怎么展开分析,应该着重说明解决它们的复杂性,我个人觉得应该强调某一两个灾难的复杂性,以证明这些问题顽固复杂,需要来自各种文化的解决思路以启发找到方案的灵感,这样着重展开分析透彻比较好)

Nevertheless, the definition of 'permanent'(permanent好像有种“永恒”的意思,与持久顽固的意思有点出入,似乎不太恰当) varies from(from可能对,好像有些例句是这种用法,不过我不知道in对不对) different nations and cultures, besides the above mentioned issues(besides the issues mentioned above), which are common regarded as persistent. To this extent, it is hard to achieve a universal viewpoint about what should be addressed and how to solve it, hence it is useless(有点绝对了,评论宛转一些) to develop a global university to meet the need of worldwide desires.

Moreover, in order to harmonize a prevalent agreement from different ideas and various approaches toward a certain problem, it costs us much more time and energy to make an agreement, which renders it less efficient. If an expert from oriental country insisted on the Chinese traditional medicine to treat a patient, at the moment a western doctor considered Western medicine more reasonable, they would spend more time to debate with each other to persuade other(the opponent) using his own approach, which may delay the best time for cure and harm the health of invalid(invalid没有问题,不知道patient和invalid哪个是书面语,我还要考究以下). The confliction standpoints according to(according to 改成 on 是不是好一点?) the same problems may confuse learners and hardly do good for study. From this perspective, the establishment of a worldwide university, which stems from its inherent characters, will be unscientific and impedes the efficiency (to solve urgent issues)of addressing urgent problems.

To sum up, some common-concerned issues, such as pollution, terrorism and so forth, are needed(are needed 改为 need) the help of global efforts to address them, however(whereas也不错), due to the different value systems and country situation, the definition of permanent social problems should be take(taken to) a case-by-case consideration, which can't be solved only with the found of a university.(which can not be solved by the construction of a university)
