让暴风雨来得更猛烈些吧!

In the speaker’s opinion, the criticisms inthe reading materials on communal online encyclopedia largely result fromprejudice and ignorance, he give us three main reasons as follows:

First, for the communal online version, theerrors on factual things could be readily corrected. Instead, although thetraditional cyclopedias were compiled by experts, this doesn’t mean they were finishedto be perfect. Furthermore, once an error exists, it remains for decadeswithout changes.

Second, two strategies have been applied toprotect online encyclopedias against hacking. By putting the undisruptedcritical facts in read-only format, they can not be easily changed. Also allpossible changes can be monitored so that if any definite malicious behavioroccurs, it is possible to delete those changes as soon as possible. As aresult, these encyclopedias can keep correct as their original entries.

Third, online one can cover various topicsreflecting the great range of interests because of unlimited space. And thesetopics may not just include popular one but also the academic one. However, dueto the considered decision made by experts of special fields and limited space, traditional one can not realize the diversity of use in topics.

As Rousseau said before,”there are but two roads leading to theimportant goal of your life --- strength and perseverance”, which indicatesthat one can only succeed through his/her own effort but not the admiration or approvalof others.

It is indeed necessary for one to achieve his/herambition with the help of influential people such as family members, friendsand colleagues. However, one shouldn’t ignore the negative effect brought aboutby them, especially when he/she need to let them know about his/her ability oraccomplishment. For instance, there were times when we were all astonished bythe fact that one noble prize winner rejected such a significant award, wherebyhe could establish his splendid image in everyone’s heart. In fact, he just continuedto walk on his own way to the final success without being affected by the more frequentconferences, telephones or interviews beyond his research after accepting theaward. Furthermore, it was his groping alone in the dark that lead him to seethe light, but not his name being known by others. Accordingly, if one pursuesa solitary goal, just stick to it, for any interference made by othersinevitably cause bad results on different degrees.

Actually, the effect is worse than wasting one’svaluable time, changing one’s initial schedule or shifting one’s direction. Oneis very likely to lose his confidence and determination when facing ironicwords from others’ envy , to become pride and lazy when accepting others’ flatterand even to be aggressive to hurt somebody. Maybe a corrupt life leading by an officialused to be honest just comes from letting people know his trivial so calledfeat. Maybe a fatal conflict between two persons just derives from somecomments made by one to the other. But the results shouldn’t be the reason why wecarefully consider on whether we should tell others our strength and accomplishment,it is only about our own decision and goal being able to give us a happy andsuccessful life.

8.31 INTEGRATED WTRITING
Although the speaker admits that there may be some disadvantages for private collecting of fossils, he points out that it definitely shows more value than the so-called unfortunate destiny of fossils. Furthermore, his detailed comments directly contradict the three critical points supporting the reading passage respectively.

For the public, the fossils obtained by hunters couldn’t be less exposed to them. Instead, the treasure is available for them to routinely see and even buy as they expect to. In that case, the public is less likely to loss interest in fossils, for donating to the museums is not the only way to exhibit them, so does selling by the hunters, which is a more efficient and convenient method.

When it comes to scientific discovery, the speaker hold an opinion that the private collectors mostly make sure whether the fossils are real or not before buying them, which should be identified and authenticated by scientific experts through detailed demonstrations and tests. Consequently, contrary to the fact from the reading passage that scientists cannot successfully buy the fossils to get access to tand make crucial discovery on them, the fossils should usually be passed through the hands of scientists first so that there can be no important discovery to be missed out.

Moreover, commercial collectors render more fossils to be discovered but not to remain unkown, which is a better choice for scientists than just getting information on positions and surroundings from limited fossils. Also It is less effective to discover large amount of fossils through the operations by small group of scientists and colleges compared to the collection of those collectors. That’s obviously the last conflicting point between the listening and reading passage.

TPO 15

The speaker holds an contradicted opinionthat the measures suggested by the reading passage can’t be successful ininhibiting the spread of toad population, but may cause some unwanted environmentaldamage beyond our expectation. Here are the three corresponding points shedelivers:

First, as clearly indicated by the readingpassage, the natural fence can stop the process of moving into nonresidentareas for the toads. However, in the speaker’s opinion, such fence is unable toblock the advance of young toads and toad eggs, for both of them are sosmall-sized that readily go across the fence. 这个内容我还真没听出来, 貌似录音里没有吧...Furthermore, by following thewater flow, the eggs being restricted by water might easily spread into the territoryprotected by the fence.

Second, contrary to the fact that toads canbe eradicated by capture and destruction behaviors of volunteers in thepassage, the speaker points out that the untrained volunteers are more likelyto threaten the rare species such as the frog at the same time, because the frogeggs and embryos also exist in water. 我确定您听错了  是他们分不清frog和癞蛤蟆

Finally, in the speaker’s mind, the virusonly doing harm to cane toads would multiply and transmit in such a efficientmode across the whole world that human can hardly control the spread of thevirus population. In that case, the cane toad being a protecting group in America mightbe endangered or even extinct just because of the fatal disease. It directlyattacks the last point in the passage that the specially designed virus willeffectively control the toad population in Australia without any visibledamages to other species. 您这 绝对听得不对, 是澳大利亚的癞蛤蟆被带去美洲,然后会携带virus威胁到美洲的toad,造成生态破坏.
God Bless me!
