The lecture is mainly discussing whether dinosaurs were Endotherms. By challenging what is stated in the reading passages that dinosaurs would not be seen as reptiles, the lecturer listing contradictory reasons to the reading.



First of all, the lecturer think that the dinosaurs fossils which been found in polar area can not convinced that they belong to the Endotherms. Because in that period when dinosaurs lived, polar region were warmer than today, so animals lived there no need to bear extreme cold. In other words, reptile can also lived polar region.


    Secondly, the lecturer try to explain why leg poison of the dinosaurs were as same as the Endotherms. This body structure could support more weight, which means dinosaurs could grow very large size. So we could not take it for granted to think that feature of dinosaurs may prove they belong to the Endotherms.


Finally, the lecturer talk about the bone structure of the dinosaurs. Although they do have Haversian canals in bones as same as the Endotherms, the fact could not be the proof of they belong to Endotherms. Because there are grow ring also in their bone, it make it clear dinosaurs grow slowly or stop grow during cooler periods, grow fast during warmer periods. It is exactly the characteristic of reptile , not Endotherms.


The contents of the reading passage are disputed by the speaker and the speaker has totally different ideas on the topics made in the reading.

   First of all, the lecturer（用speaker） think（thinks） that the dinosaurs fossils which been found in polar area can not convinced that they belong to the Endotherms. Because in that period when dinosaurs lived(直接用the dinosaur period可能更好·~), polar region were（was） warmer than today, so animals lived there no need（not need） to bear extreme cold. In other words, reptile can also lived(in) polar region.（还有，在天气冷的时候，它们可以migrate to warmer palces，这一点没说）
