In the lecture, the professor casts dount /doubt on the three measures, put foward in the reading material, to stop the spread of the cane toald in Australia.

Contrary to the( first) reading method of building/buiding a national fence( in the reading), the speaker /professor claims that this approach can hardly help prevent the spread of the toad. He says that many young toads and toad eggs lie 不知道是不是under,肯定不是near/near the rivers and streams indicated that (which indicates that) they can still flow from one side to another side through the streams. Plus, a national fence can simply help stop a small amount of the cane toad
rom spreading. Thus, the first way to help stop the spread of the cane toad is unconvincing/not convincing.


Second, although the toads could be captrured and destroyed by volunteers, as the reading argues, the professor still questions this method since this process could cause some bad impact.
He claims that these untrained volunteers are likely to capture and destroy some frogs when capturing those young toads.


Third, opposing to the measure to control the cane toad populations by developing a disease-causing virus, the speaker holds that this way may be harmful to America. The cane toad is acturally native to Central and South America,. If/ if they are infected by the virus, the limited cane toad would make the whole ecosystem suffer a lot. 有点奇怪,我不知道有没有用make sth. suffer a lot 这种用法,也许直接用destroy the eco system 会好点。
