There is a saying that "Interest is the best teacher". In the light of this statement, students can be very creative if they engage in what they are interested in. Then, we may assert, as what the speaker do, that education will be highly effective if it caters to the individual needs and interests of all students. However, this view is oversimplified. Education is not only concerned with students but educational institutions and society. Therefore, truly effective education should reflect the real need or expected aims of these three parts.

Education is effective for student if they are satisfied with themselves when graduated. There are two critical characters when students feel satisfied. First of all, students come to realize who they are. Most of us have a experience in common, when we are still very young, that we often have some puzzles such as how we were brought to earth and who give us life. These seemingly weird questions can find their answers when we study in school. Even we learn to know that we are not alone because everyone is a small but important component of the big society. Secondly, students know what they want to do. A great many students sometimes make a complaint that they have no idea what they would like to do in future. Maybe you also have such a time. In fact, studying in school, we are supposed to cultivate our interests. As the saying mentioned in the beginning, interests will guide us to do what we should do. If you like to piece some raw materials to make a house or something else, then you may choose to be an engineer in future. All in all, at the moment of graduated ceremony, if we know who we are, what kinds of people we want to be, what we are going to do, we can say that we completely finish the expected work in school.

Education is effective for education institutions if all educational resources are fully in use. Teachers are the key roles who help students to realize themselves. They should endeavor to convey fundamental knowledge and help to shape students' interests. However, teacher resources are far from actual need for every student may need a private tutor. Hence, effective education should come to the balance between limited teacher resources and various individuals’ needs. In addition, whether the public resources such as libraries are fully used can reflect the educational quality. If the books in libraries are frequently checked out and many students enjoy reading and studying there, it to some extent means that educational institutions have created a hospitable environment, which is a great achievement.

Education is effective for society if they find that the students are the right people they are looking for. No company would like to recruit some freshmen who know little about interpersonal relationship or those who know anything about teamwork. People, society expects to obtain, are those who can effectively communicate and work together with others to finish a complex project. Hence, society plays a significant role who should help students realize the social need and enrich their capabilities, cooperated with educational institutions. When qualified social members are cultivated from students in schools, education is effective for the whole society.

In summary, whether meeting individuals’ needs and interests is just one of three aspects to evaluate the education. Only can we say education is truly effective when students, educational institutions and the society all have met their own demand.
