What to do if the laws seem unjust in the views of individuals? Someone think it beneficial and even necessary to disobey the unjust laws, however this attitude towards the rules fixed by society is dangerous or at least harmful in my opinion.

Certainly, some laws are not so appropriate thus an adjustment is needed. It's difficult for the authorities and administrators to make perfect judgment and reach a profound and comprehensive consideration over the problems of certain society at first time, and even they had established a sound system of laws at the beginning, whether this system or some part of the lines is proper for contemporary society is questionable. And the effect of the laws should be reflected otherwise no improvement would be attained. For example, 20 years ago the penal for embezzling was fixed on 20 Yuan, what was a large number for that time, however, the standards must be modified taking inflation during the decades into account.

On the other hand, it’s true those unjust laws exist in the legal system, but this fact could not compose an convincing reason for one to refuse obeying the laws.

The laws play a role of regulation, even if the question remains whether the content is reasonable, resistance against the laws would break down the valid of the laws thus leads to disordering the society. It's known that the stability of any institution and company need regulation to keep harmony among the members and reduce the conflicts inside thus achieving greater goal in the whole, which goes for the society. Even the laws are unjust, however they regulate the society and ensure the situations under the control more or less before adjustment has been fixed. So even some unjust laws exist, the laws also deserve authority.


What's more, whether the law is just or unjust is not a question for individuals to answer, but the whole society, for the fact that individual's standards of justice varies from one to another. The laws are, to some extent, a form of compromise concerning the distribution of interests within the citizens, and restriction of behavior regarding the fact that absolute freedom of individuals contradicts with each other thus could hardly be realized. In short, laws are some kind of agreement and consensus. After all, whether accepted or not, individuals are inclined to protect and expand their interest thus say words primly for themselves, so none could achieve truly just attitude towards most things, also the disparity of the standards determine that objective standards about justice do not exist.

In conclusion, to maintain valid, laws need to be observed by the citizens, even though adjustment should be made.
