Should the government focus on immediate problems of today or the anticipated problems in the future? In my opinion, though it's indispensable for the government to deal with the immediate problems, a balance is in need: the future also calls for attention in case that they swell into immediate problems hard to deal with for future generations.

Immediate issues should be solved because they compose threaten to the survival of a group of people which would results in turbulence of the society, let alone solving the future problems. For example, an increasing unemployment occurs in certain society is an immediate problem calls for solving otherwise greater poverty and even starvation would break out due to a lack of actions towards this problem. Number of people who are not satisfied with the government would increase and ultimately leads to their distrust for the government of and conflicts between people and government. This could answer why immediate problems need to be solved by government concerning the stability of the society.

However, the anticipated problems of the future also deserve attention, for the future generations would be under the shadow of these problems if no actions have been taken for the anticipated problems. By preparing for the future, some problems could be avoided in a less expense than solving the problems when it happened. For instance, the necessity of education is a solution that prevents the future problems such as depression cause by a quicker pace of the society and more drastic competition in the future between individuals and nations. If the government fails to focus enough labor and funding on education, the future well-being of the nation is in the air despite the contemporary prosperity.

What's more, some immediate problems, though important, can not be solved by the government in a short time and need to be solved by taking the future conditions when taking actions. Thus by taking effort towards the future such dilemmas might be solved naturally. For example, a down-going trend concerning the fields of morals and ethics, though call for being solved in time, no one involving the government is enabled to change the state in a short time. A practical solution might be better education, and the students who are more loyal to the moral system might be qualified adults to prevent the under-going tendency. So placing emphasis on the future problems might help in solving certain dilemmas which could not be solved in a short time.

In conclusion, there should be a balance for the funding fixed on solving the immediate problems and anticipated problems of the future after analyzing the conditions and necessity.
