Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A job with more vacation time but a low salary is better than a job with a high salary but less vacation time.

I don't agree with the idea that a job with more vocation time is better than a job with a high salary but less vacation time. I think young people should working hard in order to promise guarantee a better life at their old days.

Though more free time is beneficial to their mental and physical health, people should work hard at a young age. Besides, it doesn't mean that people have no free time at all if they work hard. There are so many kinds of festivals in China, and each festival has several free days for people, so they can travel as long as they can during these festivals. For example, in May 1st, people could spend three or more days with their friends or family members to travel. Also, people have so many weekends, that means, they can go outside on Saturdays and Sundays, so that extra vacation may be a waste.

Furthermore, people at a young age should work hard at their positions. Because with the increasing number of population, people have to face with a strong social competition. The best way to solve this problem is to work hard, that would lower their pressure and give them a release sometime. So I think a job with a high salary but less vacation time would be better. They could earn much money at a young age and then have more chances to enjoy happy time at latter years.

With all these reasons, I think a job with a high salary but less vacation time is a good choice.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Movies and TV programs made in one’s own country are more interesting than those made in other countries.

I don’t agree with the statement. That is, I think movies and TV programs made in other countries are more interesting than one’s own country. By watching programs from different countries, we can enrich our life and broaden our eyes.


The one advantage of watching movies and TV programs about one’s own country may be the watcher can understand the language and meaning easily. Different countries have different languages, cultures and so forth. These differences are big enough, which could lead to misunderstandings of each other. So I think watching programs made in one’s own country has no such cultural barrier.

However, it doesn’t means that we could obtain more happiness from such programs made in our own country. For example, like me, I may feel boring just watch programs from one country. I think through watching movies and TV programs from different countries, we can learn different cultures, lifestyles and so forth. That would be wonderful. I have watched one movie name Gone With the Wind. The movie is made according to a novel, and the novel is written by one famous foreign writer. In my mind, only when this movie is acted by people from this country can it be vivid. At least, people from my country can’t make such mastery technique, because they have no such experience and feelings. So watching such foreign movies would be attractive.

Furthermore, watching movies and TV programs made in other countries would broaden our eyesight. We can feast the beautiful scenery from other countries. When I had seen a TV program made in the US from my childhood, I made my mind to go to America one day. The program said about the natural scenery, the urban life, and most important, the colleges. I was attracted by these features, and want to go for a look. So I think watching movies and TV programs from other countries can be really helpful.

For all the advantages and disadvantages, I think watching programs made in other countries would be better. We can learn a lot knowledge and can get real happiness.

With the rapid development of technology, our life has(been) changed greatly. We should admit that either telephones or televisions have made our life much more convenient. But when comparing the two, I think televisions have more effect on our life.

In my mind, the most important factor is that television has opened a window before everyone, no matter he lives in a poor rural area or the urban area. When television is not so popular, for example, people who lived in rural area had to depend on broadcast, because broadcast could tell them some information around them. At most, these broadcast just told them news in a limited region, or even in this small town. Yet television brought great changes. People could know what happened outside, either within their own country or throughout the world, but they stay at home. Television surely opened the eyesight for people. For example, in March, one earthquake happened in Qinghai Province and many people lost their life during the earthquake. But they have no ability to reconstruct their hometown and maintain a normal life. So with the spread(spreading) of television, people from other places give them money and other commodities. This is the great effect of television, that people can see what happened in other places, especially disasters.

The next advantage of television is that it can give citizens pleasure. After a strenuous working day, workers may sit in front of a television and find their favorite program(programs). They would feel released and cheerful before a television. Also, televisions give(offers) them a chance to communicate with family members. My meaning is that （means that）when they sit down before a television with their family members, they would talk in a harmonious atmosphere. There are lots of television programs for them to choose, so they don’t have to worry about little choice. Especially these days, televisions become much more cheaper, every family could afford to buy more than one television. The function of television also improved year by year, for people can（删了） not only watch news or programs, they can also but（but also） products through television, according to the advertisements.

In the end, according to these reasons, I adhere to my view that television has more effect on our life. Television tells people the changes around the world, television gives people pleasure and happiness, and television supply more chances for people to communicate.
