In my perspective, I’m agree with the view. The environmental problem should be handled by masses and the government, not by the individual.
To begin with, the power and influence of individual is too weak to solve the problem. Just imagine that if other people didn’t treasure the environment , just spitting on the ground arbitrarily, throwing useless things everywhere, what would you do? Would you do something to stop them? Absolutely not for you are just a human being and you don’t want to be seen as abnormal by the other people. What was worse, you might just do what they had done because people have the kind of . tendency to imitate the majority people’s action.
Secondly, individuals don’t have some privileges to legislate some provisions of protecting the environment. As a individual, you can just to try to persuade other people not to do something harmful to the environment. But how it works is based on the quality of a person. If the very man just regard your advisement as noting, you can do nothing. But the government has the rights to pass on some regulations to preclude them from polluting the environment. If they don’t conform to the laws, they will be punished. So this can provide the protection of the environment as some sort of assurance, not empty moralism.
In a word, we need masses, not individual. Only when the majority of us realize the crucial importance of protecting the environment can we make the promise that we can handle our environmental issue .
