In the recent years, there is a general controversyover the issue whether the environmental problem is too complex to be handledby the individuals. Although some people claim that this matter is closelyrelated to the life of every person, so they are responsible to deal with it.Personally, I prefer to support the opinion that this is largely beyond the abilityof individual and I will provide concrete evidences to demonstrate my point ofview.

First and foremost, under the enforcement of the government,environmental problems can be more effectively solved. As is known to all, thepolicy from government is so powerful that it will promote the process of solvingany kind of problems including the environmental ones to a large degree. Takethe air pollution caused by the firing of fossil fuel as an example. If withoutthe interference of government in dealing with this question such as sponsorthe public transportation financially, increase the price of gas, limit thenumber of automobiles by charging additionally for cars during the rush hours,how can we control the negative influence of air pollution on our livingenvironments. Actually, government is the only institution who can achieve thisgoal for us.

In the second place, in some special cases, it isnecessary to corporate globally for the purpose of protecting our environment.It is universally acknowledged that since the environment is unbounded on theearth, the problems result from it are also not limited in one area, more oftenthan not, they spread quickly around the world. A good case in point isabsolutely the action for the green house effects. In order to better controlthe growing number of carbon dioxide released from green house effect, everycountry in the world signs the contact in Tokyoto reach an agreement in reducing the total carbon dioxide release. Finally, wecould prevent from polluting the environment much more.

Last but not least, because of the personallimitations of individual, usually they can not do good at protecting theenvironment. Whenever something occurs, the first reaction for a person isdefinitely to consider on their own benefits rather than the overall situation.Therefore, it is hard for them to make a right decision to solve theenvironmental problems.

To sum up, taking into account of the discussionmentioned above, we may safely reach the conclusion that is it wise and reasonableto let the government to handle the environmental issues rather than give it toth individual.
