In the recent years, there is a generalcontroversy over the issue that whether children should allowed to playcomputer games. Although some people may claim that playing computer games is awaste of time, personally, I prefer to support the opinion that computer gameswill bring us a lot of advantages and I will provide concrete evidences todemonstrate my point of view.

First and foremost, through playingcomputer games, children could learn something about competition andcorporation. On the one hand, many computer games is designed as groups games,which needs every player to take their responsibilities in a team. As long as theplayer knows how to corporate with other members in the same group, he can reallyexperience the interesting part of the game. As a result, it will cultivate theteamwork spirit of children. On the other hand, the ultimate goal for everygame player in joining the game is absolutely win at the end. Then how can theyachieve it? it is obvious that they must make their team stronger than othergroups, try their best to compete with others. Finally, they could get thefirst place in the competition. Apparently, this process largely inspired thenatural competition inside children.

In the second place, computer games canalso offer children an opportunity to learn some skills.
Nowadays there are some specials computergames about sport activities, which is designed for the new learners. Take thetennis game as an example. First of all, the game will introduce many knowledgeabout the sport in a vivid way, there are clear images as well as specificexplanations, so children can quickly know the basic rules. In addition, childrencan meanwhile experience playing tennis on the computer at once, even if theyhad never been to the tennis court. This will make a good preparation for theyoung to begin their tennis playing ahead of time and enhance their interest onthis activity.

Last but not least, computer games enablechildren to hold a right opinion toward failure and success. Since it is commonto reach either success or failure during the game time, gradually childrenwill find how to deal with their emotional changes between the two experiences.Eventually they will also learn how to face the up and down in their reallives.

To sum up, taking into account of thediscussion mentioned above, we may safely reach the conclusion that it is wiseand reasonable for children to play computer games.
