11.26 Playing computer games is a waste of time for children. Do you agree or disagree?

There is a widespread controversy nowadays concerning whether playing computer game is a waste of time or not for children. Arguing for their children wasting time are those who hold the opinion that playing games will get their children addicted in computer and distract from studying. Contrary to the opinion of many people is my heartfelt objection to the idea that playing computer game does not necessarily waste time and even is necessary for it is an excellent relaxation and can develop their intellects.

With the increasing competition from their classmates and high expectations from teachers and their parents, children are facing rising pressure from their studying. Not only do students try their best to learn in class, but also they are required to finish their homework. Due to the nervous all day long and stress from the surroundings, the young needs some way to relax and free from those workloads. For those children, actually, playing computer games is good choice to relieve the stress and temporarily all the annoyance. No wander there are many youngsters playing computer presently.

Another advantage of playing computer is that playing computer is conducive to improvement of their intelligence. Thanks to the development of science and technology, more soft companies develop computer games. Among those games, many games need much knowledge such as the knowledge of geography, second language, thinking mentality and abilities of analysis. Obviously, these games are definitely beneficial to broaden students' vision and horizon, enhance their comprehensive abilities.

Admittedly, it is also comprehensible for some people to hold the view that they suppose that too much focusing on computer game will let students be obsessed with it. True as it seems to be, these people still ignore one issue, that is, students have suffered so much stress and need to release it. If they do not find ways to get away from pressure, they may give rise to skim class and even revolt, which must be avoided. However, if the students can play game properly, such thing will nerve happen.

Obviously, all the evidence justifies an unshakable conclusion that playing is not a waste of time for children. Although I agree that there may be a couple of disadvantages to play computer games, I feel that the advantages are more obvious. Only when they get enough relaxation can they be fully prepared to continue their studying with pleasure. Playing computer games is one of the best approaches to helping students accomplish the goal.
