Weather it is bound to be a mistake to theorize before one has data? The author gave a positive response while I only agree with him so far as in a certain fields but not universally. According to the common sense, it is doubtless a mistake to theorize before the acquisition of enough data in the economic fields as well as the social realm. Nevertheless it is not always in this case when it comes to the science field as well as the art.

In the social discipline especially the economics, the regulation of a certain phenomenon only can be got after analysis of enough raw data. If one has a desire to transfer the regulation to a theory further data assisting it is required. Any surveys performed in the study of the economics are cases in point. In order to get a reasonable conclusion, the amount of the samples should be as big as possible. Furthermore, all of them should be involved in the focused issue, which is to say the samples must act as the represents of the whole target item. The census in the social study is also a very example: in the ideal condition all people in a certain country should be involved in the census before any conclusion can be drawn.

When it comes to the science realm in some cases it may out of the reach of this dogma. The discovery of the relative theory by Einstein strongly supported this assert. He initiated this theory only by imagining of chasing a beam of light which has nothing to do with the physical experiment let along experimental data. Einstein established the relative theory without any data support. But as we known this theory has been proved by the following experiments. When it comes to the whole science field the new discovery always appeared in the brain of the scientists and then physical experiments were designed to test it.

The art is aimed to express a certain emotion of the creators or represent a certain social emotion and at the same time serve the mass as an entertainment. As a result one criteria of the artistic works is well adapted by the social mass. Only after the born of an artistic work can we get the effective of a create manner, so it is almost impossible to get enough data before regarding any create manner is a great one.

As discussed above, it is vary from case to case about this issue. In this passage only three different fields were involved, we also got vary conclusion, let along focusing any other fields. Numerous items in this world are in the same way, no one can give an absolutely conclusion without investigating of the various conditions.
