Weather the money spending on the research is always a good investment? The speaker gave a positive reply, and went further to assert that even when the results of that research are controversial, it is also this case. While in my opinion, the first aim of the science research is to understand the universe around us and then create new technologies to serve us. In this term, money spend on this issue is deserved. While some research should be concealed for we can expect the pale result of them within the knowledge of us. As the result of every research is out of reach of us, it is hard to tell which research will result in controversial out put.

No one can deny the money spend on most rational research is a wisdom investment. The official data and daily life experience illustrated that the research and the result of it: technology, have made our life more comfortable and literate. No one can deny that it is the internet technology which allowed us to get touch with our friends and family members far away from us; it is the biological technology which enhance the output of the agriculture industry; it is the HGP which uncovered the gene code of our human beings and shed light to the preclude and cure of numerous human diseases. With out doubt, human beings have paid numerous money on those research mentioned above. When asked weather the money invested in those researches is reasonable, every one would reply: yes.

While it is not always in this case, or in the other word, money spend in the research is not a reasonable investment under any condition. Some research plans or engineering are useless ones which can be noticed by our own knowledge. A well illustration of this is the planet war research initiated by present Reagon. Even at the very present, whether there are literatures of the other planets is still out of reach of us, as a result the plan backed by Reagon was a waste of the taxpayers at that time. The result of the research undermined the social development at that time, which contrary to the initial aim of science research.

As the research is a deed human trying to understand the world, any result of this action is neutral, as a result it is not a reasonable issue to determine wheatear the result of a certain research is controversial. When the achievement of the research is utilized by the benefit purposed action, it is a positive one; while it used by the ill will action, it is an evil one. At this time numerous examples come into my mind. When the clone technology used in the curing of the human diseases, it is a positive research result; when it used to the human cloning, which will result in the ethic crisis, and other evil intentions it is a negative one.

As all discussed above, it is a reasonable investment of money to the well planed research plan, but not all of them. The mission of the science research is just to understand and utilize the universe around us; as a result, it is a pale deed to discuss which research will have controversial result. The most important aspect of this issue it to use the output of the science research in a right way.
