题目:ARGUMENT141 - The following appeared in a newsletter distributed at a recent political rally.
"Over the past year, the Consolidated Copper Company (CCC) has purchased over one million square miles of land in the tropical nation of West Fredonia. Mining copper on this land will inevitably result in pollution and environmental disaster, since West Fredonia is home to several endangered animal species. But such disaster can be prevented if consumers simply refuse to purchase products that are made with CCC's copper until the company abandons its mining plans."

The author asserts the Consolidated Copper Company will mining in the field they purchased over the past year in the West Fredonia. As a result the environment of this area would be polluted and put threat on the survival of the endangered animals in this area. The author goes further to claim that the environmental pollution can be eschewed by refusing to purchase the products of the CCC by the consumers. At the first glance this is an ultimate amused argument as the reasons followed.
To begin with, without any grandness, the author claimed the CCC with utilize the field it purchased in the West Fredonia to mining. There is every chance that the company will use this area to buily plant and manufacture other products, which are environment friendly. Given the company will mining in this are, we have no information to get the conclusion that the environment of this area will be polluted. It is entirely possible that the company will pay much attention to the environment protecting and equip some advanced equipment to eliminate the byproduct of the plant. Even the company can not act as I mentioned and the environment will indeed be polluted, no information told me the endangered animals in this area will be threaded. As we can not eschew that the plant will built in the area far from the habitat of the endangered animals. As a result, any of the cases mentioned above occurred we can not get the conclusion that the environment of this area will be polluted.
What more, the author hastily concluded the environment pollution could be eschewed by refusing to purchase the product of the company. In my point this is an absolutely unwisdom one. Firstly, this is an method of little practice, it is difficult to identify the company of the products they purchased by average people. Secondly, people can get other alternatives to assert this problem, such as negotiate with the monitors of the company and through the law protocol which are more wisdom and practical than this one.
As mentioned above, the author fails to convince me in every aspect of this argument. To bolster this one, the author should give some details of the company plan of the CCC, and the local state of the area the CCC purchased in the West Fredomia. To settle the potential environment pollution problem, other wisdom method should be concerned before coming to the one mentioned by the author.
