1 如果一个目标是值得实现的，那么我们肯定要付出艰苦的行动。
2 但我们绝对不能不择手段，一定要使我们的行动和手段符合规则，这些规则包括法律和社会道德。
3 其实对于目标的价值是没有衡量标准的。我们选择目标时不能只考虑自己的利益，也要考虑社会和他人。要实现目标，就要对自己的现状和目标之间的差距有清楚的认识，并采取合理正确的行动，目标才是有意义的，才能被达成。

Everyone has one goal or several goals in his life. Of course, we should take various means to attain it , but therefore comes the question, does every means we take to achieve our goal is justifiable? I cannot agree with the author's statement because it is not only a problem of actions, but also relative to the moral qualities. So we should attain out goal, wheras chose the means that under the rules.

If a goal is worthy, then it is the obligation to take pains taking effort to achieve it. The history of human development can be also regarded as the history of struggle and strive. Our forerunners had set and achieved their goals, thus society advanced, human beings gained knowledge and live a better life. So many famous great men set us examples---from Edison, Copernicus to Walt Disney and Oprah Winfrey--whose stories have long beenencouraged us to set our guals and take long-term diligence and effort to achieve them.

However, absolutly, we must not take whatever means we want in the process of attaining our goal. Every action we take, every means we chose, has to under the rules. Those rules include laws, moralities and ethics. From the other side, our efforts will be meaningful only when we obey those rules, otherwise they can not be accepted bu people and society. A political goal might be worthy, but the leader should not use the means such as backstage manipulation or black case works to attain it. The goal of protecting the enviroment is welcomed everywhere, but if we shut off all the factories and machines
will certainly turms out to be a disaster. In the realm of business, the goal of maximizing profits and minimizing costs and espenses cannot be attained by illegal means or at the expense of social well beings.

Then what kind of goal is worthy? And how to set our goal? Of course, there is not a clear standard of the worthfulness of a goal. A goal is "a personal or orgnizational desired end-pointed in some sort of assumed development". The goal we set should not just for our own benefits, we should take the benefits of society and other people into consideration in the process of setting and achieveing our goals. What's more, it is important for people to know where they stand in relation with their goals, and to understand what kind of efforts they should take, therefore the goal will have a chance to be attained. We set goals
frequently, personally, short-termed and long-termed, may be at everyday or even every second, we must chose it carefully, and have a clear recognization of the gap between our actuality and our dream, then through our efforts and diligence, we will attain our goals.

Judging from the analysis made above, I strongly believe that if a goal is worthy, we must use the means in respect of the rules in the prosedure of attaining it. Without limitaion, any means we take will lost its meanings. issue212.doc (23 KB, 下载次数: 10)
