==========================================

TOPIC: ISSUE43 - "To be an effective leader, a public official must maintain the highest ethical and moral standards."
========================================

It is atempting to agree with the speaker on the basis that we are mor willing to  adhere a leader who is more kind-hearted, more accommodating ,more altruistic and so forth . However ,we found that  the ethic and morlity is anwantedly overstated by the speaker when we carefully look into the ralationship between leadership and morality.

In order to argue this problem clearly , I would like to clarify the definition of an effective leader and what is the highest ethical and moral standards in the first pragraph. Exactly ,a leader means the  head of a group. Thus , whether the leader of this group is or not an effective one completely depends on his or her  effort to make this group  safer , happier  and richer. That is to say ,the effective leader  inevitably involve competitions in which the leader is loyal to the  interests of only  a certain group. Winston Churchill ,the former prime minister of the UK, is a good example of effective leaders . In the World War 2 ,a war in which Churchill achieved the goal of defeating the Nazi and bringing safety back go  British persons, Churchill killed numorous people by his troops. Yet  this kind behavior can hardly accord to the highest ethical and moral standars  which is based on the love to all the people even all the livings . To explain the highest  ethic and moral standards , the vegetarians is a striking example because they present the highest kind with which they are avese to harm any animlal, let alone any person.

Obviously ,the higest ethic and moral standards are not fit to an effecitve leader.  Churchill didn't have the high marality   to stop killing the Nazi,but the  lower mrality to  serve his own country. Bill Gates, another effective leader in business and the richest man in world for many years , doesn't have the high morality to save other companyies but the lower marality to bring his own Microsoft the best upon others . Virtually, the highest ethic and morality standards ,which contains a broad love to the world, will harm the leadership which serves a certain group.
The vegetarians ,those who show a higher morality ,in fact ,can never be a leader of a group ,for they are too  merciful to damage others in competitions. They don't represent any group .However ,no competitions  no effective leaders .

On the other hand, what was worth paying attention to is that the basic ethic and morality in a leader is indispensible. Such as honesty and  loyalty to the group , uncorrupted behaviors and so on . In this extent ,a leader is usually more effecitve when he or she hold a higher ethic and moral standard which bring the leader more support and a high morale of his or her group.

In sum, the speaker overly emphasises on the ethic and moral standards of the leaders. Only  In certain extent ,a  leader benefits from a higher ethical doings .However ,the highest standard is not a basic character of  leaders who serve a limited persons and succeed in competitions.

Bill Gates, another effective leader in business and the richest man in world for many years, doesn't have the high (highest) morality to save other companies but the lower morality to bring his own Microsoft the best upon others. Virtually, the highest ethic and morality standards ,which contains a broad love to the world, will harm the leadership which serves a certain group.

The vegetarians ,those who show a higher morality ,in fact ,can never be a leader of a group ,for they are too  merciful to damage others in competitions. They don't represent any group .However ,no competitions  no effective leaders .(I don think mercy and morality are different,. It can not effectively support you idea)

pay attention to the spelling
