Technologies, broadly defined the innovation of tools and machines, have long been considered as one of the determinants of social productivity ever since the Industry Revolution. Our lives can do benefit from the convenience together come with technologies but never should our minds be controlled by that technologies.
Admittedly, Technologies have truly effect our social customs in so many ways, such as communication, entertainment, work, that hardly can we all list them up. Take communication as an example, two thousand years ago we use horse to send our long distance (mainly in Euro and Asia) message which takes almost several days while often missing in the journey; a hundred years, after the invention of telegraph, people can communicate throughout the boarder of nation and boundary in a few minutes; when time goes in the 21st century, the world run into Information Highway Age, you can connect anyone at anytime or anyplace just by turn on your computer and surf the internet. The innovation of technologies in communication have brings the world a closer place, while the amusement of the citizens in the world village has also greatly changed. If kids in the Middle Age were asked about their part-time activities, properly the answer is prayer or farming, now kids in this modern age are attracted by computer games and society are making effort to help them abandon it, what seems to unbelievable image, however is the fact. I think that is the fascination of technologies, to make dreams come true, to make impossible into facts. So if technologies have such impact on our daily life, it surely determines our social custom.
The second to indicate is that ethics the summit of social class and should be prevented from the influence of technologies for if ethics is determined by technologies we may in danger of losing our soul.
