TOPIC: ISSUE130 - "How children aresocialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have notyet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a bettersociety."
In this statement, the speaker asserts thatthe degree of children' socialization determine the better development of oursocieties, unfortunately, we have not learned how to guide our children to be socialized. In my personal view, it is true that children socializing to some extendinfluence on the human well-being societies, however, it is not the only factorwhich affect to the social development, and also some of the process of oursocieties are very the indications that we have cultivated the youth generationbecome socialized more or less.
To begin with, I concede that thesocialization of children contribute to the future development of society. And thesocial evolution requires each individual in the societies to be socialized. Afterall, the process of socialization nurtures the individuals with the norms andinterpersonal skills which are necessary for participating within andcontributing their part to the entire society. As we know, as the complexity ofthe current world, people have to work in group to achieve their goals. Thus,it is inevitable for people to communicate with eachother to understand different ideas. For example, the scientific researchersoften share their result with the other academicians to test and evaluate theirtheories; the businessmen try all stratagems toconnect with their customer and gain their want; the engineers have to communicatewith the other co-workers to integrate the whole application together. Allthese demonstrate that the importance of the personal socialization.
However, the children’s socialization isnot the only factor which influence on developing a better societies in thefuture because the growth of societies are not only base on the individual socialization, but also necessitate the professional skills and the creative spirit. As weknow, from the ancient hunting and gathering human society to the agriculturesociety and the recent industrial society. Every watershed of the humansocieties can be marked by the creativity and innovation. For example, Watt inventedthe first stem engine to lift the productivity of the western countries in 17th,and then just this stem engine spur the industrial revolution and emancipatethe farmers from their land. All these evidences demonstrate that the creativityand innovation also impulse development of society.
Final, the other compelling reasons why Ican agree with the speaker's assertion has to do with the fact that we haverecognized the importance of the children socialization and making improvementin our current educational system more or less. After all, some of theprogresses in society have indicated that nowadays the people have been socializedto some extent through this system. Let us take the racial discrimination as anexample, now a number of color people around the world gain the equal rights towork, to live, to vote, and to be educated. Moreover, the women gain the fairtreatment in their professional careers. We also start tolerate with the peoplewith different religions and convictions, and even to
accept the homosexual around us.
All of these social phenomenaillustrate that we actually to some extend know how to raisethe children and build a harmonious world.
In conclusion, admittedly the socializingchildren affects the progress of the societies; however, it is not the onlyfactor that contribute to the growth of the societies; the innovative ideasalso lift our societies to a new higher level. Meanwhile, our new generation's socializationalready benefits to build a harmonious world. |
