Believe it or not, the past dominates our life more or less. In a long time, people making decision largely based on the experience learned from the parents or grandparents. Custom, habits, or even tradition exert more impact on human behavior than ration. However, looking back for an understanding of the past could only provide us very limited guidance for living in the present.
In this meaning, I agree with the statement above.
To begin with, temporary world, our society, even the nature and earth, which people live in does not conform to the past. Even if people have mastered the traditional philosophy of survival, it may not be really conducive to the present living. In the past, farmers relied on the realization of their climates to manage their work, but that largely depends on the unchanging periods of weathers in a whole year. But it does not work in Central Africa or Asia, because people there have suffered the greatest negative effect of global warming, which appears as the more frequency of drought. At(And) the even worse, besides farmers, people all over the world have no choice but to change their ways of life: the fishers have to reduce their fishing, the car drivers have to decrease their driving, and even meteorologists have to make a great effort to find out the solution to the(删去the) control the severity of environmental problems.不对吧,二十四节气等是从中原发展起来的,现在也有一定价值吧。
Also, the past contains more faults than appropriateness, so the ancient people’s thoughts cannot be wiser than present. Ancient nations have their variety of believes(beliefs). The most of the appropriateness in the former wisdom is actually inherited, taught, and passed generation by generation, so people need not reexamine that, because they have already learnt that from their parents. However, the belief may be probably wrong, because(because 要引起一句话的,此处把逗号去掉,换成due to/because of), lacks( lack )of scientific knowledge, the ancient people tend to simplify the unknown world. Sometimes, they did not even notice the problem. Nowadays, even a child knows the cigarettes do harm to human’s health, but the ancient Indian, where the tobacco was introduced from, did not know that. The ancient Chinese regarded the heart is(as) the organ of thinking. And the Ancient Egyptian, who has already mastered the most developed medicine, assumed only four types of juice actually sustains the homeostasis. Maybe research on these civilizations maintains more of(more of ?这里的语法没看懂,应该是more ... than ...吧)humanism than practical value.
Moreover, some things coming from the past seem too elusive and mysterious to fetch their real meaning, not to mention making use of. Some kinds of augury or famous writing of prophesy(v.吧,此处应为n.) used to be and still be favored by some people. Although most of them are so vogue(n.,应为adj.),
no one could justify its function nor could the scientists refute it. nor 的主语应为同一人吧As well as, some special construction can hardly be demystified by the scholars, such as the human-face sculptures in the Eastern Island. No scientist and archaeologist could explain how that could be built. Therefore, the past have so many mysteries that even the history itself looks like a mystery. So the idea, which deems that researches on history could really benefit the present life, is more than over-optimistic.这个观点很好,新颖
To sum up, looking back is not as good as people believe, it may not be so helpful as guiding people’s behaviors at present. Maybe some discoveries about history, archeology, and anthropology satisfies the people’s craving for knowledge. When it comes to their practical guidance, they may largely depend on the certain situation. When people introduce more new methodologies into the viewpoints of explaining the history, the problem may become more complex. Thus, the retrospection of the history can scarcely promote our nowadays(adv.,应为adj.) living.
不知道looking back 包括从长辈那里学习不,如果不包括,这篇文章观点很新。 |
