There is much controversy over the issue of replacing leaders in any profession including business, politics, education and government every four years, some people claim that frequent changes in leadership would lead to unstable circumstance for company, school or country, while others advocate that new leadership brings innovative atmospheres. However, I concede that whether
frequent replacing leaders is beneficial or harmful must be determined on case-by-case basis.

First, frequently replacing leaders in political world is the only method to adapt to the changeable preference of public. Every time new election season starts, the parties first
study the contemporary society to investigate the very urgent problems people concern with. Then parties choose those who can best speak for the people in solving these issues to run for the election. The family, education background of the person chosen are all in consideration when select the right representatives. Take the new American president Obama as an example, his wife success in helping him because of her appropriate dressing style, which pander to the situation after financial crisis. In this sense, frequent change of leaders would be of great help for parties to win the election.

Next, consider change of power in education realm. Although new headmaster could bring new education methods or strategy for the school, the consistency of education is also interrupted. Education is a long-term project, therefore, consistency is a vital factor that influence the effect of education. Were the methods to evaluate teaching achievement of teachers changeable all the time from publishing papers to number of courses taught, the teachers would be confused about the priority of their duty--teaching or doing research? So it is for government, even though problems like bribery would reduce with the shifting of leadership, the different attitudes of parties would seriously affect the relationship with other countries. On balance, in areas requiring long term cultivation change of power would do more harm than good for interest parties involved.

Taking the above considerations in different areas about the adoption of five-year-leadership, I feel quite comfortable to arrive at the conclusion that only by taking different requirements into account can people decide whether to change leaders so frequently. Is the consistency of leader's work critical for the development in the referring areas? Is more changes required accord with new needs? All in all, the leadership is important for the future of any profession. The leaders need to remember that the greater power you have, the greater the responsibility is.
