题目：ISSUE208 - "The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people."


I agree with the speaker's broad assertion that the appearance and behavior of the individuals reflect the spirit of a society, however, there are some time the way people look, dress, and act have nothing to do with their attitudes.

I turning first to my chief point of agreement with the speaker, in the most of time, people display their inside from their appearance and behavior. For example, German people always give us impression that wearing formal and dealing with things seriously, while people in Brazil are trending to wearing all kinds of colors and full of passion to the daily life. In this case, the appearance is actually indicates the Social Character, and marks different culture.

The other example indicates how the society's ideas effect on people's behavior is in Japan, people carrying stress manner, they keep saying "sorry" all the time even though they did nothing bad. Although most of the manner of Japanese is learned from ancient China, Chinese people lead a casual life. Maybe is caused of the large population, Chinese people are often attracted by the crowd and they like speaking loudly, some people think they are too noisy but actually, most of them is very friendly and more easier to become a friend. Considering that, few would dispute that we can tell the society's ideas and values by behavior of its people.

I turning next to my point of content with the speaker, some times in so far, the appearance and the act do nothing with peoples attitude, wearing, for example, it may just decide of the environments, in the country whose weather is hot and dame, residents are force to wear less and light which can prove the skin under the sunshine and keep the body cool. Actually the out said of individual can even tell a lie. We may think a society value the hard working when we see the people of a society busy with working all the day and didn't have a rest in the weekend. However, it might be just because of the lacking of social security, people have to working very hard to keep survival. If that is the case, the behavior doesn’t reflect society's ideas and values.

In sum, most of time, appearance and behavior of its people reflect the ideas of society, but if we want to learn deeper about it, we need to understand the appearance could not telling everything.
