Position: The author’s conclusion that non-mainstream areas of inquiry as mentioned are of great significance for they meet human needs is a little oversimplified.
(1) Admittedly that astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits remain to be prevalent from ancient times to the present
indicates they indeed fulfill the need of human, at least in the special aspects.

(3) In conclusion, when the pursuit of sense of security in existence and psychology cannot be satisfied, we are inclined to turn to irrational thinking. Therefore they may be detrimental leading to unreasonable course of action.

Position: The conclusion is too radical.
(1)Awards like that can encourage and approve outstanding persons as well as urge the lagger to catch up.
Instance in proof: Scholarship, honor
(2)However we cannot get the deduction that high-profile awards are damaging to society for they may promote the competition which will hence push ahead development of society. Furthermore, those who don’t get the prize are also excellent, deserving the acknowledgement too.

Position: Truly profound thinkers and highly creative artists can hardly be accepted by their time and society. The author’s conclusion is too radical.
(1)Truly profound thinkers and highly creative artists hold more acute and sharp eyesight and higher wisdom so that they seem to be different from the time and society they live in.
(2)Even though, their sights and ideas are based on the nature of human beings which seems to be sophisticated in the view of common mass population.
Actually the productions of the thinkers and creative artists are in tight relation with themes of nowadays society.

It is unreasonable to affirm that ... Some profound and creative works of the thinkers and artists credit to the professional ability. They are pioneers of the society.
