Whether should individual complies with the just law and ignores the unjust? To this question ought not to answer hastily and simply because though we all sincerely admire justice and hate injustice the boundary line between which is sometimes ambiguous and not easy to be defined. As far as I am concerned, it is our responsibility to obey laws no matter whether it is considered by oneself as justice or injustice, otherwise our society will fall in chaos.

Theoretically, the assertion that to obey the just laws and disobey the unjust laws is sound. From the childhood of mankind, we desire fairness, which is one significant aspect of justice, of allocating products. “All the men are equal”, “Crime and punishment” are profoundly rooted in every individuals` mind. The law is the tool to keep justice, but when the law itself is unjust why should not we resist it?

However in practice, every individual has his own definition of justice and injustice based on one`s life experience, culture, religion and interests. The law is absolutely just in someone` eyes might be regard as injustice. For instance, cows are gods in the Indian religion, but people from most of the countries are eating beef every day. If a person like this left for India, we might say that the right of eating beef is deprived, and he will be unsatisfied, complain about the law of India and consider it as injustice. But if he kill a cow for meat in India, he will be arrested because what he has done hurt the feeling of Indian people and broke the holy law of India. From this we see that the injustice to some groups of people perhaps is the justice to others

To disobey one`s own injustice often leads to opposite effect which one intends or hope for. Let us take the traffic regulations as a simple example, one who had a mission of great emergency went directly across the street when the red signal is on. From his point of view, he is just, so the rule which stops him is regarded as injustice. He broke the law and possibly caused a traffic accident which is not the intended consequence of his conduct. If each of us follows the conceptions of only obeying own justice, then the law will be destroying by us, our society will become an anarchy, by which time there will not exist even the just law, no one can defend justice, protect kind people and punish injustice. More importantly, while we are disobeying the so-called unjust law, we has challenged the process of establishment of law which is legal and just as we considered.

When the law is acknowledged by the majority of citizens as injustice, in other words, most of individuals one-mindedly disagreed to it, we should propose to make a amendment of law in the parliament. If it is adopted, then the law is altered from unjust to a just one from the view of most people. And when this happens we are still obeying the just law, but not disobeying the unjust law. Our predecessors hoped that the kings would listen to kind advices and kept justice. But the system of tyranny disappointed them and they did not have the right to make any kind of proposal. Fathers turned the monarchy down and established republic.

In conclusion, if we find the law is unjust we should propose to change it first, but not to disobey it for every individual holds different opinion to a certain case of law. The law is established to give a common rule of society. And it is unfair to simply divide the laws into “just” and “unjust” because there is no obvious boundary. To disobey laws in order to keep justice must negatively affect other members of society which is a typical conduct of injustice. it is our responsibility to obey law no matter it is just or unjust.
