TPO—15
The reading passage give three methods to deal with the explosion of cane toads in Australia. However, this statement is strongly weakened by the lecture which provides drastically different ideas and argues that the ways advanced in the reading would not function effectively, ironically, it might bring a disaster to the environment.

The professor begins by point out that it could not be an efficient way to keep the toad from spread by setting a national fence. Actually, as cane toad is amphibian species, its youth and eggs are living in streams so that they could travel to other side of the fence in stream, then they could build a new habitat there. This evidence disagrees with the standpoint that simply building fence can stop toads' prevalence, as demonstrated in the reading passage.

Then the professor goes on to maintain that untrained volunteers would do harm to Australia's native frogs, some of which are at the edge  of extinction, rather than destroy cane toads in Australia. She says it is not easy to distinguish frogs from toads especially when they are young. According to the reading passage, contrarily, gathering a group of people to kill the toads would stop its number from growing. Therefore, the lecture goes against what is presented in the reading.

Finally, the professor states that the disease-causing virus could led ecosystem disaster to the original habitat of toad-America. For the reason that the virus may be carried to other continents through some accesses like pet collectors and researchers, then this virus would infects native toads in the US and the America's native toads' population will be limited. Since toad plays a significant role in this ecosystem, its limited population could cause ecosystem a calamity. This example also casts doubt on the contents of the reading passage, which declares the virus method is a sagacious choice.

The reading passage raises the issue that it is a sagacious decision to deal with the ruined forest by removing the dead trees away. However, this statement is strongly weakened by the lecture, which provide drastically different ideas and argues that all this so=called benefits have potential hazards.

The professor begins by pointing out that clean up dead tree to leave more space for new trees to grow is unpractical. Actually, suddenly remove tremendous dead trees will do harm to the soil that it is not a nice environment for new trees to grow. This declaration disagrees with the standpoint that simply remove dead trees can heal the ruined forest, as demonstrated in the reading passage.

Then the professor goes on to maintain that it is not the wood that feed spruce, since spruce have existed on earth for nearly one hundred years. And the dead trees also have merit to beneficial animals like birds. According to the reading passage, on the contrary, clean up dead trees can prevent pests' population from exploration. Therefore, the lecture goes against what is presented in the reading.

Finally, the professor states that the economic effect this program brings is not permanent. Only helicopter or other expensive transportation can take out these woods. Moreover, those addition jobs are always taken by skillful outsiders rather than local residents. This point of view also casts doubt on the contents of the reading passage, which considers remove dead trees can bring economic profit.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Students are more influenced from their teacher rather than their friends.

When it comes to the debate about who influence students more, teacher or their friends? Different people will give various answers. Some people hold the opinion that it is friends who have more influence on students. Since they think friends are always be with students. However, I stand at the antithesis of that opinion. From my point of view, teacher can give students more influence than their friends. I will amply state these reasons in turn.

First of all, teacher, who is elder than students, could enlighten students and give them knowledge. Whereas their friends would never do like a teacher, by the reason that their friends are contemporary with them. Their friends should also get knowledge from teacher. Consider, we received our calculation skill, which is of great value in our daily life, from our primary school teacher not our friends. In this sense, teacher play a more significant role in students.

In addition, it is teachers who have had special training of teaching that they could apply their professional method to indoctrinate students. Teacher can build students' good study habit which will benefit them during their lifetime. For example, they would have a way to cultivate students' independent thinking. To achieve this goal, the teacher might not tell all the answers but leave a space to solve it by themselves, and that will be work to foster students' competence to deal with problem by themselves.

Finally, teacher possesses more experience of life. That means teacher would not only enlighten students but also tell students his or her lesson or exhortation. On example is that, my physics teacher in junior high school, makes me know that knowledge is not the only thing I should acquire at school, what's more important is something outside books, he always tell us to love our family and appreciate our friendship.

To sum up, because teacher possessing more experience, holding further knowledge and is elder than students. I believe teacher's effect on students will outweigh that of their friends'.

The reading passage raises the issue about the function of Chaco Canyon, which is a settlement in the twelfth century A.D.
And it gives three possibilities.  However, the statement is strongly weakened by the lecture which provides drastically different ideas and argues that all these theories should not be true.

The professor begins by point out that although it looks like the apartment building outside, its inside disprove this theory. Actually, there is not enough fireplaces and insufficient rooms for over one hundred people inside the Chaco Canyon. This declaration disagrees with the standpoint that the Chaco was used for resident, as demonstrated in the reading passage.

Then the professor goes on to maintain that the Chaco could not be used for food supplies since there were no more big containers and spill maize
on the floor. According to the reading passage, contrarily, the houses were used for supplying food. Therefore, the lecture goes against what is presented in the reading.

Finally, the professor states that there should be more evidence to declare that the Chaco houses acted as ceremonial centers. The excavation of the mound might just be the trash heap like contain constructional material and the broken pot should be something that were not used up by the construct workers. This point of view also casts doubt on the reading passage, which considers the houses were used for holding ceremonies.

回12楼:我认为开头应该简洁的写一下reading passage 的内容,就是提供我们写的这篇文章的背景,让读者知道我们在说什么。
