Do you agree with the following statement? In order to achieve happiness of yourself, you have to try to make other people happy.-

In order to make happiness of ourselves, should we need to create the atmosphere bringing happiness to others? Some people argue that happiness is not related to others, because happiness that we build on our own. A countervailing school, including me, suggests that in most cases, our happiness actually relates to the happiness of others, especially living in the intense connected and communicated society.

First of all, one significant aspect I agree with is that happiness needs our own hands to set up rather than depending on others. Everyone has his/her own certain situations, so does the definition of happiness. Only through the hardworking and struggling for our target in life, the true happiness he/she could attain to. For example, when you think that going to the university abroad is the most happiness you want in the next year, the only thing for you is trying to get this aim as possible as you can rather than relying on other people's happiness, because nobody would replace you in this process.

Despite the merits of one's own happiness, and at first blush it might appear that happiness seems unrelated to others. However, in many other cases, the happiness is actually bases on the happiness of others. Two aspects would be illustrated as follows.

Firstly, our community does not seem signal, alone combination of many individuals, people would more or less have connection between each other which means that one's benefit would be under the influence on others. For example, when you are in a team work, such as the football team or the working group working together for one project, the happiness which greatly depends on the success of the team or group is contributed by all team members, so the happiness would definitely is the happiness of everyone together rather than individuals.

Secondly, happiness is much account to the contribution that you could devote to for others. For example, somebody hope living a happy life with his family. What he could do is to create the economical, living, emotional support for his family and create the happy living condition there. Only the happiness of every family member would finally amount to the happiness of your own.

In short, what should we concern on happiness? The happiness we achieve is greatly decided by ourselves, but without others’ happiness, we might lose the essence of happiness it is.

The passage illustrates three methods for keeping Torreya from being decline. However, what the lecture talks about is totally against these three methods and shows us the reasons why these methods are not possible.

First of all, the lecture tells us that reestablishing Torreya in the same location is not a possible way to keep it from decline, because the weather in this area is strongly affected by the change of climate there which might be caused by the global warming on earth or by being drained of wetlands. So the climate there is becoming more and more dry which would impair the microclimate that Torreya is living. This statement in the lecture directly argues the reason told in passage that the Torreya could avoid decline by reestablishing.

Secondly, the lecture shows us basing on the example of one kind tree-black locust that the migration of this tree has killed many local plants living in that area. This case warns us the relocation of one new plant to new environment might contribute to a terrible ecological disaster. This example argues the possibility of relocation of Torreya talked about in the passage.

Finally, the lecture demonstrates that in order to resist diseases, the seeds bringing to the research center need to be large and genetic diversity. But the center lacks the capacity to make sure this diversity which is a key factor in this method that keeps Torreya living in a long term. This demonstration in the lecture argues for the method of preservation of seeds in research center in passage.
