6月11日考托福,所以就加入这里的批改作文小组了。。

question:

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Movies and televisions should always show audience good people being rewarded and bad people being punished.

within 30 minutes.

I disagree with the statement that it’s not a good thing to move to a new city or a new country in fear of losing old friends.
When Sirius Black died in the story of Harry Potter, professor Dumbledore comforted Harry by telling him that “people we truly love never leave, they stay with us in our hearts”. The same thing goes with friendship. Genuine friends will not not be your friends any more only because of the physical distance, they will still be there for you when you are in need, and back us up whenever you meet problems. For example, I moved to Hong Kong for my bachelor’s degree from Beijing, which is three and half hours distance by air. But I did not lose any of my close friends: we used skype to chat and we called each other for help all the time. Even when we were busy with our lives, we did not have the time to talk, there was always a special place in my hear that was reserved for them - and the same thing goes with their minds as well.
So what if we do lose friends from the old city or country we come from? Things that can be taken away from us are always those that are of significance, friendship is the same. As argued above, true friends won’t leave because of the physical distance you share. Also, human beings are always social animals, we are always able to make new friends in new environments. Van Gogh left Hague for Paris, but then he met Paul Gauging, who inspired him of new creative ideas in painting and they exchanged views about their dreams and arts, which eventually helped them both to reach to climax of their respective career. Me, too, made lots and lots of new friends when I came to Hong Kong - I even met the love of my life here!
Even though the worst scenario happens: you lose some old friends but you are not able to make new friends for some reasons, it’s still fine. The most important thing is that you go after your beautiful dreams and follow your heart, because those things make you who you are and define the values of your lives. Thus, as long as you are fighting for your aims that set your heart in peace, you won’t feel empty or lonely any more.
To sum up, the world is really big and is filled up with different opportunities, therefore you should not let our unreasonable fear and worry take away the million possibilities in life from you. And if you do have to go to a new place, just follow your heart and leave.

I disagree with the statement that it’s not a good thing to move to a new city or a new country in fear of losing old friends.(开头貌似过于直白)
When Sirius Black died in the story of Harry Potter, professor Dumbledore comforted Harry by telling him that “people we truly love never leave, they stay with us in our hearts”. The same thing goes with friendship. Genuine friends will not stop being your friends any more only because of the physical distance(用geographical会不会好点,感觉physical很Chinglish); they will still be there for you when you are in need, and back you up whenever you meet problems. For example, I moved to Hong Kong for my bachelor’s degree from Beijing, which is three and half hours’ distance by air. But I did not lose any of my close friends: we used skype to chat and we called each other for help all the time. Even when we were busy with our lives and we did not have the time to talk, there was always a special place in my heart that was reserved for them - and I know they feel the same way about me as well(给人感觉这里全部用现在是比较好,因为你现在还在香港,跟朋友还在用这样的方式联系).

So what, if we do lose friends from the old city or country we come from? Things that can be taken away from you are always those that are of no significance, friendship is the same. As argued above, true friends won’t leave because of the physical distance you share.(share有点别扭) Also, human beings are social animals, you are always able to make new friends in new environments. Van Gogh left Hague for Paris, but then he met Paul Gauging, who inspired him of new creative ideas in painting and they exchanged views about their dreams and arts, which eventually helped them both to reach the climax of their respective career. Me, too, made lots and lots of new friends when I came to Hong Kong - I even met the love of my life here!(my love更地道一些。。。吧)

Even though the worst scenario happens: you lose some old friends but you are not able to make new friends for some reasons, it’s still fine. The most important thing is that you go after your beautiful dreams and follow your heart, because those things make you who you are and define the values of your life. Thus, as long as you are fighting for your dreams that set your mind in peace, you won’t feel empty or lonely any more.(好像有点偏主题远了点了)

To sum up, the world is really big and is filled up with different opportunities, therefore you should not let your unreasonable fear and worry take away the million possibilities in your life. Hence, when you do have to go to a new place, just follow your heart and leave.

第一次写,还按时完成,文笔流畅,用了一些很地道的短语,eg. Back you up,梵高的例子也很让人impressive,总之不错啦~
