For successful development of a country, should a government focus its budget more on very young children education rather than on universities?

It is undeniable that both universities and young chidren education have their own importance on the development of a country. The former can train future leader in different field of economy and acedemic while the latter can cultivate citizens’ personality and basic skills. Despite the meaning of young children education, howeer, I prefer to focus budget more on universities.

Firstly, universities are crucial for science and social development. University not only offers important education for students but also offers scholars crucial research institution. Extraordiary university should have good liberary, lab and acedemic atmosphere. Lots of great inventions and findings are made in universities—the place can offer convinient instrument and facilities for doing experiment. Especially in recent year called technique revolution, technique development can impetus a country’s economy and offer wealthy to whole society. With this money, our government can serve better for school, hospital and community development. For social science as an example, although they do not need lab to do experiment, scholars can use liberary to find books and material for their research which may include education research. With better understand of how and what to teach to young children, young children education can also serve better for them.

Secondly, better principal and better teacher are more important than money for children education, and university can train better faculties for these two positions. A good principal should know how to push teachers to work harder and follow their responsibility and how to organize faculties to do better job. Also, a good teacher should have enough knowledge to clarify every puzzle may confuses our students and to solve students’ phsychological trouble. They should know students with low self-esteem should be encouraged to study while students with high self-esteem should learn humility. To be a good principal and good teacher are both a hard job which means better universities are needed to train them.

Addmittedly, basic education is very important for students’ personality and science fundamental. Basic education and higher education are two big towers to support social stablization, economy and acdemic. Although university development is more important and more emergency, forcus too much money on university while ignore basic education is an extrimist’s action. Government should invest enough money for these two system to serve better for our people.

In the article, writer proposed three methods to eliminate the increasing population of cane toad which is a harmful species in Australia. The speaker in the lecture, however, claims that these three measures will either not easy to achieve its goal or bring unwanted result.

Firstly, for using native fence to prevent toads’ moving, speaker do not think this way can easily prevent toads’ movement. Young toads and toads’ eggs can be carried by river and stream which can flow from one area to other area without the restriction of fence. Also, even if few young toads or eggs get into other area, they can mutiplicate to a amout.

Secondly, although volunteers can successfully destroy large amout of toads, these untrained volunteers can easily kill native frogs at the same time. Especially when frogs are young, they will be easily captured.

Finally, although disease-causing virus is not harmful for most of reptile and amphibian if they are infected. Toas or other amphibian and reptile are part of ecosystem. Other animal feed on them may be infected by the virus through eating them. Then, as a result, the disease-causing virus would cause ecosystem damage.

In conclusion, the reading material displayed how cane toad came to Australia to harm its ecosystem and promoted three measures to solve these problems. The professor in the lecture, however, against these measures through using the above reasons to prove these methods are either not work or have unwanted side-effect.
