ISSUE54 "History teaches us only one thing: knowing about the past cannot help people to make important decission today."

When people are going to make an important decission, what should he or she firstly do? Maybe to seek advice from the history，seeing if there were some similarpeople or events can help him or her to make it. Thus, although there are some situations that people in the past never met, however, some direct or indirect connection between the past and today's task that we currently meet can help to make important decission.

Admittedly, with the development and advancement in people history, nowadays we run into many fresh issues that in the past never come into sight. When people today coming to these issues, they will feel flustered. Allthrough the world, the population boom has become the most important issue, especially in some developing countries. The question that how to control such explosion calls for some government's oriental idear. In China, while the agricultural machines being harnessed prevailingly in many areas, the overplus country population flood into large cities, but how to solve such city-press has no direct referent in Chinese history. In a word, sometimes when people would make some decission today, the history provide no direct reference. However, is it all the time the case and were there some indirect reference in the history?

Yet, the development should always be unbalance, whenever it is compared between two countries or companies, so some issues that we meet today would emerge earily in other countries and so on. If we define the history is what took place in the past, then the same problems we currently have likely have confused other people. With the respect to the countries, such is often the case, especially between developed and the developing ones. For instance, the industry has brought some serious environment problems in these early industry countries because these countries neglected the press brough by hige level of industry to the environment. The developing countries should take measures to prevent such problems from recurrence before they decide to extend new industry. When it comes to the business, without reference to the incident of other campanies’s bankrupts, one company will perhaps bump into burst-up by the same reason resulting in the bankrupt of others. It is imprudent people who see no history while making decission.

Moreover, we would have no ready-made decission made in the past as referent, but we should not long for every decission we would make can directly tie with some ones in the past, because the human history advances without a second's stop. All but in every field, we have some indirect reference to help us to make decission. While doing science research, scientists always meet some new and challenge obstacle, and they will see back that the similar ones emerged in their realm in the past. That is why aside from learning the outcome of the science in the past, we should also know about the process in gaining the success. In business area, managers will also consult the success and failture.

To sum up, although history sometimes cannot give us direct guidance to make some important decission, it dose not mean that thers is no indirect. In addition, it is usually some indirect events or decissions in the past worth while our attention. While learning history, we, people living in today, will attain success and avoid failture which appeared in the past.
