Generally, I agree with the statement that in most cases life is full of choices. Meanwhile I also notice that sometimes it is hard to make a choice, but this is not because the lack of choice but other reasons such as the limitation of moral or violence -- choices seldom leaves us alone since it is an essential function of human mind.

Choice can be understood as the action of making a decision between several alternatives or as the alternatives themselves. Considering the first explanation of choice as the action of selecting, it is reasonable to claim that choices live side by side with us for everybody is making a choice in every minute. Right now as I am writing, a baby is attracting its parents' attention by choosing to cry; a family is choosing their route on their journey to someplace; a writer is choosing his or her words to depict the beauty of life--everyone is making choice, and therefore choice exists anywhere and anytime. On the other hand, if we took the second explanation of choice as alternatives, the conclusion will be the same. Once admitted that the action of selecting is everywhere, it is logical to say there must be alternatives everywhere, or the action of selecting would be meaningless.

Sometimes people do believe that there is no choice for them, though the fact is that there are plenty of choices ahead, but they are not willing to consider them due to the limitation of moral or laws. As far as I am considered, the people who lack the freedom to choice most seriously in human history would be the slaves. But slaves could be free according to their own will, take Spartacus for example, he chose not to be a slave any more and succeed. Soldiers are often considered as people of less choice, for their only principle is to follow orders of their officers, but they have choice too, or there would not be those who retreat without permission. In conclusion, people who believed to have no choice is, in most cases, full of choice and the reason of their misconception would be different from one person to another. Soldiers do not retreat and choose to sacrifice according to their honor and moral values. Slaves choose to accept their position because the lack of courage or the limitation of violence.

To make a reasonable choice is quite a difficult task, and is often a controversial problem. A balanced way should be considered when making a choice. Although some believe choice should maximize individual benefits, others believe moral problem and public values should also be taken into consideration. When choice is made only according to personal value, it may harm the public; but when choice is make only according to public interest, personal interest would be sacrificed sometimes. This dilemma can only be solved when human society is so sophisticated that there is no lack of any resource , hence the choice would be much easier and unlimited.

To sum up, although we are never lack of choice and are choosing anytime, sometimes the choice would be difficult because it involves the interests of too many people. To make a balance between them is an art to be studied, and the situation will be better as we are developing everyday.

body1任务太重啦！！你居然想两个定义都写，很难吧。完全可以分开来啊。先写选择的权力。那是由环境决定的，举的slave的例子蛮贴切啊～～然后再写选项。那是由物资丰富与否等决定的。（～～想到我自己的文章，我基本上就是这样写了一整篇，你会不会觉得不可思议啊^_^）
