Education enlightens the young generation by presenting them with widely acknowledged ideas and theories. As an integrated part of education, questioning and criticism usually arouses controversy. However, it is debates and arguments that boost our society and help it to reach a new state of harmony.

At the beginning stage of education, more emphasis is laid upon ideas that are widely acknowledged. With no or little relevant information, students tend to absorb whatever they are introduced with and accept the underlying assumptions and premises without doubt. As we may all have experienced when we just started a science course. Take physics for example, we felt enlightened and illuminated every time we learn a new concept or theory, as it finally explained questions we'd held for so long like: why do apples fall? However, these rules and theories did not come naturally. Years of fierce debate over the validity of different hypothesis passed before the truth, or what appeared to be truth at least at the time being, was set and presented to the rest of the world.

Though education starts with ideas and thoughts that bear little controversy, it invariably arouses questioning or even criticism after the rules and theories are applied to real life scenarios. When we have grasped the essence of all kinds of rules and theories, we are equipped with the information and reasoning power to form our own ideas and thoughts. For one thing, our own ideas clash with what we have learned as people tend to consider things from different perspective. For another, the world keeps on spinning and brings about changes, which creates new fields and topics and offers us new space for open discussion.

Let's take a more detailed look. There are two kinds of problems that might cause controversy. In one case, the ideas that are being questioned are actually correct and warranted. Under this circumstance, doubts and criticisms might blur the truth and hinder its development. Unrelenting and excess arguments might disturb social harmony. However, debates don't last forever. Instead, it is fierce debates that attract more attention and scrutiny from all sides. As a result, the consensus that is finally reached among different forces is undoubtedly more convincing and persuasive. The other situation involves a prevailing theory that is wrong. Questioning and criticism, in this case, helps to enclose the blunders and unveil the truth. Therefore, it is debates and arguments that boost our society and finally help it return to a new state of harmony, which will be more difficult to challenge.

To conclude, education starts from harmony and stops at a higher level of harmony, and the circle goes on. Though debates and arguments usually occur during its course, yet instead of disturbing the society, these different voices actually help to improve our society by shaping out better ideas and theories.

1。教育的初始阶段，学习者由于没有基础，往往是没有批判的接受的。即使是这样，我们还是要注意教育的起始点并不是一潭死水，老的理论亦是在众人的怀疑和讨论中形成的。
2。在学习者渐渐积累的足够的知识，形成自己的观点后，他们会不可避免的提出自己的理论，并质疑之前的观点。
3。两种争论 A.之前的观点是正确的，那么在争论和质疑后，它更具说服力
                  B.之前的理论是错误的，那么争论中可以完善并提出更可靠的观点
    无论是哪一种，怀疑和批判都没有破环和谐。而是在争论后达成一种更稳固长久的和谐。
