I strongly agree with the notion that government should preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state, even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people. As I see it ,there are three fundamental arguments for composing on the government responderbility to protect wilderness areas.

The first compelling argument has to do with the great value of wilderness areas. On the one hand, the wilderness areas even the remote ones might play an impontant role in keeping a balanced nature and ecological system. Mary rate flora and wild animals might inhabit in these areas. On the other hand, the wilderness areas might have possitive effects on humanity activities, such as offering valuable material to traditional Chinese, providing important samples for our scientific reseaches, or large amount of mineral resources for industial production, for the plentiful wild animal resources, wild plant resources and mineral resources which the wilderness areas hold in store. Moreover, the wilderness areas might make a notable impact on the climate and enviroment. For instense, the marsh in the Northerneast Plain in China plays an important part in the local climate. Thus, preserving wilderness areas even the remote ones are of vital significance.

The second compelling argument has to do with serious consequences if the government doesn’t take effiective measures to protect the wilderness areas. Nowerdays, the inflict between human developing and prserving the wilderness areas has become more and more seriously. The wilderness areas are likely to be destroyed for ecomomic merits at hand, which brings about a series of problems, such as the air pollution, the extinction of rate flora and wild animals, or even the disappearence of the whole wilderness area. Even the rote ones could be damaged by a few people who can access to them. Take the Kekexili for example, it is the largest non-person area in China which locates in the northernest of Tibetan Plateau. Kekexili is famous for its abandant resourse,especially for the Tibetan Antelope. In order to gain sudden huge profit, some people kill the Tibetan Antelope as mad as a hatter, which not only makes a sharp decline on the number of the Tibetan Antelope, but also damages the nature and ecological system of Kekexili. Thus, it’s necessary for the government to preserve the wilderness areas.

The third compelling argument is that without the govement, it is hard to preserve the pubilcly owned wilderness areas ,for the reason that they are pubilcly owned and irrelavant to private interests. Still take Kekexili as an example, some people has recognized the serious consequences resulted from preying the Tibetan Antelope, and voluntarily established an informal group aimed at protect the Tibetan Antelope. They devote their time,money, and even their lives to preserving Kekesili, although their activities strick the preying , it seems far away from protecting the Tibetan Antelope, let along preserving Kekexili. As Chinese government realizes its responderbility to protect Kekexili, they take a series of effictive measures, such as founding Kekexili national protecting area, instituting formal department to manage Kekexili, legislating revelant laws, conducting broad promotion among the local people to awake their awarenss of protecting enviroment,and so on, which validly strikes the crime and proserve Kekexili. Moreover, Chinese government recently establish an wild animal research institution in Kekexili to search the breed ,migration and group of wild animal, which provide scientific evidences for protecting wild animal. In short, the government will perform more effictively in preserving the wilderness areas.

In sum, the government should do effort to take the responsibility for preserving the pubilcly owned wilderness areas, no matter it is accessible to many people or is remote. Only when the wilderness areas are validly protected, will humanity live a better life, the world be a harmonious world.
