There is no such thing as purely objective observation. All observation is subjective; it is always guided by the observer's expectations or desires.
------正文------
Is observation subjective or objective? The speaker claims that there is no purely objective one, all observation is subjective. Although I accept that no observation can be concerned as entirely objective, overemphasizing the subjectivity is more or less exaggerated.这里不太好,既然你的提纲中体现的是全都是主观性的,应该表明立场,仅说所有的都不是完全客观的有点太弱了
Observation is an activity consisting of the participation of the eyes and the brain, thus inevitably gains a subjective feature. When the signals of object is transmitted through eyes into the brain and become a mind, the observation itself is influenced by the observer's expectation and desires. Just like there are no identical leaves in a forest, the observation of two individuals with different internal characteristics is different even though the object might be the same. Optimistic person see from a dilemma a stone of hope, while pessimistic one might see a mountain of despair. Another example lies in the invention of the incandescent lamp. Tomas Edison took hundreds of tries to find an enduring material as the bulb wire. In the lasting invention procedure, he confidently believed that the success can be accomplished. Most of common persons, however, might feel frustrated when he or she tries the twentieth time.觉得你举的这个例子似乎不能称之为观察
Some may doubt whether the observation in all areas is subjective, including the scientific research which is considered to be the most objective activity. Unfortunately, they neglect that the scientific research is also made by human beings and therefore relies on human minds. The incomplete and vague data may add the subjectivity in observing sometimes. It is a common phenomenon that according to the same questions, different people establish diverse theories, which remains in disputes so far. For example, revolution应该是evolution suggests that the characteristics of living organisms change over many generations as traits are passed from one generation to the next. On the contrary, the opponents argue that the comparatively去掉 random, undirected process, could by no means have created the variety of the world’s species, not to mention an organism as complex as a human being.
It is true that observation is subject subjective in some extent; but it is not to say that the objectobjective side of this coin can be overlooked. Each observation has a certain object whose characters are independent from the observer's inclinations, expectations and desires. Concerning a table dug from a tomb, what a carpenter sees might be the skillful crafts, while an artist might visualize its artistic value. Whatever aspects of their observation, one thing remains unchanged which is that they both see a table, not a chair or some other things. In short, objectivity edges a region only in which subjective can guide the observation.
Thus, the dichotomy commonly drawn between "subjective" and "objective" is a false one. Subjectivity can only guide us to travel around the area which the objectiveness defines, out of which the observation will be degraded into sightseeing. (467 words)
除了有些地方写的不是很恰当外,其他都写的挺好的,所以后几段没添意见,但感觉语句不够地道,有时好像突然冒出来的一样,继续加油哈! |
