There is no such thing as purely objective observation. All observation is subjective; it is always guided by the observer's expectations or desires.

个人认为有些想法还是不错的,尽管时间仓促加能力有限句子组织不太好

===================================================
Observation or experiments are carried out to judge the reliability of the theories or hypothesis, we should make the result as objective as possible. The observer's expectations and desires should not affect the observational or experimental results.
Observations are powerful supports for theories or hypothesis, they shouldn't been change with the observer's expectation or desires. In the procedure of scientific research, many theories and logical hypothesis should firstly been pointed out. These theories and hypothesis can't be accepted if there is no evidence to support them. In this circumstance, the observations of scientific research become the standard to judge the reliability of theories and hypothesis. So we shouldn't change the experimental or observational results to meet the theories or hypothesis but revise our theories or hypothesis to meet the results, which is the basic criterion of scientist.
Sometimes, the inconsistence of observation and hypothesis will lead to the come out of a new theory. So no matter how different the results of observation or experiments are from what we expect, researchers must objectively accept it and point them out completely and objectively. Last century, the experimental result of radiation of black body has puzzled physicists for decades because the experimental result wasn't consistent with any existed theories. Scientists accepted the result objectively, albeit to establish a satisfying theory, physicists must overturn the basic theories existed for hundreds of years. At last, according to the experimental result, Prank asserted the Quantum Theory, which became the milestone in physic history.
Admittedly, although we try to make the observation as objective as possible, the limitation of our scientific level and the stand point of ourselves sometimes make the result different. We have being observing the world for millions of years since the origin of human being, although the earth almost retain the same, the observational results are occasionally different in different period of time. A case in point is the observation of movement of celestial body. According to the observation and the common sense, ancient people believe that the earth is the center of the universe, every planet is moving around the earth. This traditional thinking has ruled people for thousands of years until the appearance of Copernicus. After decades of observation using the telescope, Copernicus made conclusion that the earth is not the center of universe and claimed the heliocentry. Did the ancient people guide the observation and make it subjective? I think not! The different observations between the ancient people's and Copernicus' came from the different scientific levels in their time respectively. However, the different results of observations don't mean that the observation can be guided by observer's expectations, we should carry out observation still as objectively as possible under the up to date scientific level.
To sum up, as above mentioned, result of observations and experiments should be objective to judge the theories and hypotheses. Although at some circumstance, the scientific level limits our capability, we should insist on objective observation. |
